Advantages: Wonderful taste

Disadvantages: Expensive and fattening

Ben and Jerry's truly is premium ice cream, but it is notorious for being extremely expensive, with a tub costing about £4.80, and it doesn't even offer up a lot of ice cream for that price! Nevertheless, the Phish Food flavour is their ultimate triumph, both in flavour and in its quirky, off the wall, enticing design.

I initially thought that it was fish-flavoured ice cream, and although still enticed by the sheer vileness of it, was pleased to find out upon opening the tub that, actually, they're just fish-shaped chunks of chocolate interspered throughout a wealth of lovely ice cream. That said, whilst the taste is very, very nice, it's both expensive and incredibly unhealthy, giving it not one bad strike but two. Thus, it's difficult to recommend regular consumption of this, and I tend to tackle a tub on the very odd occasion.

It's a shame, because its taste is far and away better than any other ice cream I've yet to try, still at a fiver a pop, it's a big bite out of the savings if you're a lowly student, and so most of the time I tend to settle for a nice premium brand that's not too expensive, like Vienetta (£1.50 for a whole box). The recession has evidently hit companies badly, but I recall it being a pretty similar price to this prior to the decline, so it's pretty poor show really.

Summary: So expensive but so nice!
