Advantages: It's a naughty nutty taste sensation of huge proportions!
Disadvantages: It is playing havoc with the size of my ar*e. I have to do an extra half an hour on my air walker before I will let myself dive in the tub :O(
Oh yeah, this has got to be one of the best ice creams I have tried EVER. I am slowly working my way through the Ben&Jerry's flavour selection after receiving a free one in my delivery from Tesco.com. I'm normally a Haagen Dazs girl but I've tried most of their flavours and fancied a change. -The Full Vermonty- {~{~{~{~{~}~}~} The description on the tub tells me that it's a maple ice cream with roasted pecans and a caramel swirl. Oh yeah, oh yeah. I love maple syrup, adore pecan nuts and I don't know a single person who doesn't have a liking for caramel (I'm sure you will tell me if you don't) so this sounded absolutely fabulous and my mouth was watering as soon as it arrived in my weekly shopping delivery. The Taste, Oh Yeah Baby {~{~{~{~{~}~}~}~}~} Well it didn't take me long to dive head first into this little tub of heaven I can tell you and I was not disappointed by any means. First I scooped a huge amount of ice cream onto a ladle, no only kiddin, lol. Onto a spoon and tried that without any of the nuts or caramel as I like to get a good taste of the individual flavours. The maple syrup really comes through and tastes absolutely fabulous. Not to overpowering just a subtle hint so you know its there but won't get to sickly after a few DOZEN mouthfuls. It's a very rich and creamy ice cream like you'd expect for the price but sometimes, I just need to be a pig and go for the full monty (no pun on the product name intended, lol). The pecan nuts are roasted to perfection and Ben&Jerry's have managed to freeze them so they remain crunchy and I do enjoy sinking my teeth into a few crunchy nuts. Mmmm Hmmm. There's plenty included in the tub so if you enjoy a nutty type ice cream and you like pecans then you'll just love this stuff. I would say for every spoonful you get at least one n
ut unlike some ice creams, which promise nuttiness only to disappoint. You will not be nutless while eating this treat I can assure you. It's definitely not a nutless wonder! Well I think I've written enough about nuts for now and will now go onto the caramel swirly bit, ooooooo. I really enjoy caramel and find Ben&Jerry have made this with great expertise. I'm sure it's sinful but who cares. It's sweet and sort of toffee'ish. It melts in your mouth and tastes sooooooo good. There's not a lot added to the ice cream but saying as the ice cream itself is so rich and there's huge amounts of nuts in there I'd say Ben&Jerry's have gotten it just about right for my liking! Nutritional Information {~{~{~{~{~}~}~}~} · Thigh · Expandingly · Good As any of you out there who've tried this will know. Ben&Jerry's don't include nutritional information on their tubs, which is probably a very sensible idea as I know for a fact it would put me off eating it. I will tell you that the first ingredient on the list on the back of the tub is cream and we all know how much fat that contains! So if your watching your weight then I am sorry but you'd better avoid all Ben&Jerry's products like the plague. I myself have reduced the amount I eat now as my arse was expanding at a frightfully quick rate! I have now purchased an Air Walker so as not to stop my treats completely. -Price- (~(~)~) This cost me £3.27 for a 500ml tub from Tesco but prices vary from shop to shop. I've seen it for as much as a fiver, which is extortionate if you ask me and I'm never that desperate for an ice cream fix. I would advise you to shop around and try and get a bargain. Bogof's are always fabulous to find when buying stuff like this but unfortunately they are few and far between. I advise to stock up when you do find and offer as it's d
efinitely an expensive treat! -Availability- {~{~{~}~}~} I'd say it's widely available at most good supermarkets. My local Coop on the other hand only sells there own make, which I find a bit of a cheek when I hate their own brand of ice cream. Tesco's often have this on offer so keep your eye's peeled if you do your weekly shop there. As well as supermarkets you may be able to pick this up at your local video store but you'll probably pay over the odds for the privilege. My local corner shop sells this too unfortunately for my thighs, so I'm never to far away from temptation! -Packaging- {~{~{~}~} This looks very inviting - the tub is a lovely shade of purple/blue with the Ben&Jerry's logo on the front back and lid. The Full Vermonty across the centre and little maple leaves pouring out of what looks like a zip! It's a good job there's not nuts flying out of there that's all I can say - pecans of coarse, lol. There is also a short description of the product on the front with a more detailed description on the back. Also included on the back are the ingredients. Very informative apart from the lack of nutritional info! Nicky The Moaner {~{~{~{~}~}~} I do have a bit of a gripe about the names Ben&Jerry's pick for there flavours. Instead of being straight forward and having an ice cream called say pecan and maple syrup with a caramel swirl, they have The Full Vermonty, which means you have to read through all the ice cream tubs in the freezer to find one you fancy rather than just picking one out with a descriptive name! If I've forgotten my specs it can be a real pain and I mean literally as I am at risk of frost bite if I can't make up my mind on which one to choose! Do I Recommend It {~{~{~{~{~}~}~} Well I think you'll have gathered by now I do love this flavour. In fact I find it
fan-dabby-dozy, scrum-diddly-umptious, orally entertaining with a huge sigh at the end of it, its good good good. Oh yeah baby. Go on and treat yourself, you deserve it. I am giving this a full ***** star rating as I love it from lid to bottom. I feel for something as tasty as this I am willing to pay the price and so is my butt or rather the size of it :O)
