Now that I've got a driving licence, Harry and I seem to be popping out every day, just to get out of the house because we can really! We'd been doing some puzzles and he'd been doing some by himself for the first time, so I said I'd get him a little treat when we went to the supermarket. When we got to the shop, Harry kept asking for his "special treat" so I went down the baking aisle. I make all my own cakes from scratch but haven't really made many cookies before. I saw these Betty Crocker cookie mixes on offer on the shelf, and thought they'd be worth a try, and that Harry could help me make them, as he's rather into cooking at the moment! Betty ... Review of Betty Crocker Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix The product I am reviewing is a home baking mix from the Betty Crocker range. The product comes in two sizes, to make 8 cookies and the larger size, which makes up to 24 cookies. This review will concentrate on the larger size. **The Product, Packaging and Instructions** The chocolate chip cookie mix can be found in the home baking section of most major supermarkets. My daughter purchased this pack as a treat for my 10 year old grand daughter, Katy, who enjoys learning to cook. My grand daughter brought her cookie mix with her when she came to visit and asked me if I'd ... Read the complete review

This chocolate chip mix is available in two sizes a small packet for 8 cookies & a larger packet for 24 cookies. The only difference between the two (besides ingredients) is that you need to add an egg & oil to the larger packet but only 30ml of water to the smaller packet. I purchased my packet for making 8 cookies from my local Co-Op for just under £1.00 and the larger packet is available from Tesco stores or www.tesco.co.uk for £1.98. I think that the price is very reasonable for the quality of the cookies and the taste. I simply cut open the top of the packet (it has a little ridge to help but I was feeling hopeless so used scissors!) ... Read the complete review

My boys love baking buns and biscuits and whilst I am not a bad cook these days (the smoke alarm only goes off now and again!) I am not very good at baking, probably because I haven't done it much in the past. So when we were shopping at our local Asda store last week and I saw this pack of 'easy to make' white chocolate chip cookies and threw them into the trolley with some excitement- surely I can manage these..? To make~ So, you take the non offensive looking pack and open via the easy to tear top and get a bowl ready. Pre heat your oven to 190 degrees C( or 170 if it's fan assisted)/ 375F/Gas mark 5 and we are ready to rock and roll ... Read the complete review

Betty Crocker is a well known brand and while browsing in the cooking aisle I noted these with in a red pouch with a picture of fresh baked cookies and a big sign across the front saying just adds water. I was immediately attracted so dumped them in the trolley. It cost just over £1 for a 200g pouch from Morrison's. Ingredients Sugar, wheat, chocolate chips, vegetable oil, dried egg yolk, flavourings, lactose, salt, dried egg whites raising agents: sodium bicarbonate, milk protein and dry molasses Allergy advice: Contains milk, egg, and milk and Soya ingredients.
