Everyone of course has their own opinion on caged hens and free range hens a debate which I have no great opinion of and therefore this has spurred me on to buy the cheaper but just as tasty eggs. All in all, I would give these eggs a 3 star rating. They are good and tasty eggs with a nice large size but really they are not great value for money and this is what I am looking out for nowadays. Tesco Big and Fresh Eggs.... Up until recently I had been buying these and they used to cost slightly under £2 but what with everything rising they have now shot up to a few pennies under £2.20 pence. This for six eggs is what I call expensive. They do taste nice however and I always seemed to get double yolk eggs in most boxes I had. The eggs come stored in the usual cardboard egg container which I think works wonderfully as I have never had a broken egg yet. The packaging is fairly simple yet it gets the message across well as to what sort of eggs are held inside. My favourite eggs to buy are the Big & Fresh Free Range which you can buy in boxes of six from the supermarkets. These are large eggs with a good thick shell, they have a well rounded flavour and are versatile with a flavour good enough for lots of different dishes. I have bought free range eggs for many years and am pleased to see the larger supermarkets stocking a good range now, with less shelf space given to the cheaper factory or barn laid eggs. I used to buy my eggs from a particular farm up my way but he has recently moved all his hens indoors, which is not free range in my book, so I now go to Tesco or Sainsbury's as I doubt they would dare to ...  Read the complete review
