Chicken is probably 1 of my favourite meats, and enjoy the odd Chicken Pie teamed with a splodge of gravy on top of it, and a good helping of Chips - yummy! I've tried a few Chicken Pies, and although the cheaper ones are pretty good, in my vew Birds eye produce some nice Chicken items.

You buy these from the freezer section and they are sold in packs of 4. Normally they cost around £1.89 at my local Asda, but i've seen these on Rollback recently for £1.60. Not a huge saving, but a little help!

The packaging is alright. It is a cardboard box and the Pies are in individual foil trays. There s a picture on the front of a Pie and it looks nice and appetising as you see inside of the pie and it looks full of Meat, Veg and Gravy. The colourings on here are browns and yellows. The Birds Eye brand label is quite large on the box, so no mistaking the brand of these.

In each Pie there is 455 calories and 28g of fat, so not that great for you. Each Pie weight 155g.

So to cook these you put in a 200oc oven and they take 20 minutes to cook. It is best to brush the top of the Pie with milk in order to make the pastry crisp up and go a little more golden.

So to look at the Pies when they are cooked (since they are more appetising this way!) The top of it is flat and has slight crinkles around the side. The top is nice, flaky and crisp whereas the rest of the pastry is quite soft, but not too soggy. There is a good enough of filling in here, but I guess I wouldn't mind a little more. The strips of Chicken look like CHicken Breast and there is a light gravy mixed through the inside. There is a small scattering of Peas and Carrots in here, and that type of veg is just right to go with the Chicken.

These are lovely Pies and make a nice tea. Recommended by me!
