... the oven and when I touched one last week to cut it up it was that hot that it left a blister on my finger! The chicken is very fake tasting and I reckon some people are put off by the processed texture of it that makes it wetter and not as firm as a proper chicken breast. It tastes nice though and I love the peppery flavour that I think goes really nice with the chicken. It's not that spicy that you can't eat it but it does get quite strong if you eat the chicken breast too quick and then the pepper can get a bit t...more

Premium Review Birds Eye Cracked Pepper Chicken: surprisingly tasty (443 words)

I've never been a fan of 'shaped' chicken, chicken nuggets etc as I like the real thing so I was somewhat a little suspicious & a tad disappointed when my daughter came home with a couple of boxes of Birds Eye Cracked pepper chicken. They cost £1 per box from Tesco (on offer) & each box contains 2 pieces of rather grey-looking, not very inspiring, medium-sized frozen chicken To be honest the chicken doesn't look half as good as it does in the picture - eg it didn't go as golden brown & I didn't see any red/green peppers on the top (maybe they were hidden inside & I missed them?) However, it did smell good when cooking ...  Read the complete review

Doing my food shop in Tesco's this evening, I noticed packs of Bird's Eye chicken on offer at £1 each. As I'm sure pretty much everyone is at the moment I'm watching my money, and sticking to a food budget while also having very little time for planning and preparing food has led to my other half and I mainly living on a diet of either pasta with tomato sauce or beans on jacket potatoes, with only one (maybe two) nights a week where we have something a bit more interesting such as meat. We'd already chosen some gammon, but for £1 we could certainly treat ourselves to some chicken too! We chose Cracked Black Pepper seasoned chicken, as it sounded a bit more ...  Read the complete review

My husband & I love chicken but don't often have the time to cook it from scratch so instead we buy Birds Eye Cracked Pepper Chicken. It's a really tasty way to enjoy chicken without spending hours in the kitchen first. They cost £1.38 for 2 pieces of chicken from Tesco. They come in an orange box with the Birds Eye logo on the front and a picture of the two cooked pieces of chicken which look absolutely delicious. On the back are the ingredients, nutritional information and cooking instructions. Ingredients: Chicken Breast (73%), Glaze, Marinade, Glaze: Water, Vegetable Oil, Sunflower Oil, Wheat Flour, Wheat Starch, Black Pepper, Ginger ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Tasty but very artificial (494 words)

One of my favourite teatime meals is chicken wrapped in a tortilla, obviously I much prefer fresh chicken perhaps stir fried in a little sauce or cooked in some spices but when I am out of chicken breasts I will opt for frozen chicken such as this Birds Eye Cracked Pepper Chicken which is very tasty although not the healthiest option if I'm honest. Although it tastes very nice indeed, the texture of this chicken after cooking is a little unusual as it is has a slightly spongy consistency and will actually leak a little water if you press down on it with your fork. I find it a pleasant texture while eating, the problem is that having the chicken feel like this ...  Read the complete review

I love to make a very quick and easy dinner and I thought I might write a review on it. One of my favorite quick dinners is Birds Eye cracked pepper chicken. I know I might write reviews concerning my little monsters, this however might give the false impression that I am domesticated. Oh how wrong can you be! If I manage to find something in the supermarket that is quick and easy to make I am willing to knock over old ladies just to get it. Birds Eye Cracked Pepper Chicken fit the bill perfectly for me. I spotted them about 4 months ago in the frozen section of Asda. The brightly coloured yellow/orange box had the birds Eye logo on and a very ...  Read the complete review
