I'm always up for trying something new especially when it's on offer in the supermarket. This packet of fish melts jumped out at me on a BOGOF offer, meaning I could get four portions for the same price as I would normally get two for. Seeing as there are generally three people who eat the same meal at the same time, a packet containing two usually isn't any good to me. The fish melts looked appealing as they were still wrapped in a crumb which my daughter seems to like but they also had a layer of garlic and herb butter that acts as a melt. It's a good idea to grab some flavour into the otherwise plain fillet of fish that we eat. I have bought these fish ... Read the complete review

It was whilst in my local Farmfoods store that I was looking for some handy fish products to stock up with, as my other half is a huge fan of eating all things from the sea! I on the other hand, am quite choosy when it comes to fish, and prefer it to be flavoured with something, as I find it a bit more palatable. With this in mind, I was busy perusing the freezer compartments in the store, looking for something a bit different, other than the usual "fish and lemon" fishcakes that I would normally buy. It was then that I happened to notice the Birds Eye Fish Melts that were on special offer for the cost of £1. As the box contained two pieces of ... Read the complete review

Birds Eye 2 Fish Melts With Garlic and Herb Filling 200g I bought this product from Sainsbury's recently and although I only eat fish very rarely, I thought this one was really delicious so I thought I should tell you about it. It consists of two frozen breaded fish pieces with garlic and herb filling and they are sold for £1.99. What I like about the packaging is that the box they come in is really small and it fits anywhere in your freezer, so you can easily buy two of these, as I did. All you have to do to prepare the fish, after you remove the cardboard box, is bake it in the oven for fifteen minutes, or at least, this is ... Read the complete review

For tea last night I fancied a salad with something hot to go with it, I dug around in the freezer and found a Birds Eye Fish Melt that I'd bought a while ago while on special offer in Morrisons. The fish melt takes only 15 minutes to cook from frozen and smells lovely whilst cooking, I could smell a definite garlic butter aroma. Not strongly like when I cook garlic bread, but it was nicely in the air from early on in the cooking time. The fish fillets are quite small but perfect really for eating with a salad or perhaps some home made potato wedges. The fish itself is tender and moist, looking at the box I can see they are Alaskan Pollock which ... Read the complete review

I don't like fish that much so when I buy it I like the ones that have got a sauce or different flavour with them. I love both of the Birds Eye Fish Melts but this garlic and herb one is nicer than the tomato flavour that they do. They're only small but the white fish is lovely and flaky and the breadcrumbs taste proper nice. It's really soft and the sauce inside is nice and creamy and goes lovely with the fish. I think it tastes a bit like a kiev only with fish instead of chicken because the sauce is so thick and creamy. The sauce doesn't take too much of garlic and that's good because I think a lot of these frozen garlic foods are too strong. ... Read the complete review
