This and some other birds eye products are currently on offer in most supermarkets for £1 per box which makes them almost irresistible to my trolley when it is being pushed around the store and therefore a couple of packets found their way on to this weeks shopping bill (low for a change!) and we promptly set about trying them with some bombay potatoes and rice. Yum! For £1 you got 2 chicken breasts which are approximately 165 calories and 9.6g of fat each. We had two with our dinner but I only managed one and a bit as I was quite full from my potatoes and rice (carb fest!). Upon opening the cardboard box (which can be recycled), you are met with ... Birds Eye Chicken Chargrills are an easy answer for something easy to cook. I am not a cook, never will be, I think cooking is an inconvenience (although eating is obviously a necessity) and I'd rather spend my time doing other things. Birds Eye Original Chicken Chargrills come in a cardboard box that is yellow with the Birds Eye logo on the front and has a picture of the product. It contains two portions that are 100% chicken breast. The box clearly states there are: NO ARTIFICIAL COLOURS, FLAVOURS OR PRESERVATIVES. WARNING: CONTAINS WHEAT & SOYA. On the back of the box are the ingredients and all the nutritional ... Read the complete review

Much as I prefer "proper" meat, and have lots of packs of beef, chicken and pork of various cuts in my freezer, sometimes we need to fall back on pre-packed, no need to defrost, pop straight in the oven, products. Last night was one of those times.....collecting our visiting foreign student at 8.30pm after a long day trip to London, she was tired, and hungry, and I needed to make her something filling. I was also tired, and hungry, so didn't fancy doing anything that resembled real "cooking".....so out of the freezer came our "standby food". Birds Eye have been making Chicken Chargrills for some years now, but more recently have ... Read the complete review

Birds Eye Original Chicken Chargrill steaks are a frozen food available in all major supermarkets. I bought a pack of two recently as they were on offer on Tesco's website for £1, I decided that this would be a useful item to have in the freezer at this price as an option for dinner, if I needed it at short notice or was short of food in the house. The box consists of two chargrilled chicken steaks, they have the chargrill markings already on the frozen product to make it look better. As you would expect with cheap frozen goods, it is not entirely chicken breast, but being honest for the price I have paid I didn't really expect them to ... Read the complete review

Much of my freezer is filled with convenience food for when I don't have the energy to cook a 'proper' meal, and Birds Eye Chicken Chargrills can often be found in there along with oven chips, pies, fish fingers etc! Admittedly none of these things are particularly healthy but sometimes needs must. Birds Eye Chicken Chargrills come in a cheerful orange-yellow cardboard packet. You can buy them in packs of 2 or 4. The box states that they are 'made with marinated chunks of chicken breast meat, seared and glazed'. The chargrills are really easy to cook which is part of their attraction. They don't need to be defrosted first as they can be cooked ... Read the complete review
