Birds Eye Peri Peri Chicken Chargrills are exactly what they say on the packet. Chicken with a peri peri chargrilled flavour. There are 2 chicken breast shaped pieces in the box at an average price of £1.79, although there is often offers on where a box is £1. A great price I find. I often purchase these to keep in the freezer for days when I do not have time to cook. I find this product to be very substantial as a dinner, accompanied by salad or perhaps cous cous. The nutritional values are very appealing, with each piece containing only 170 calories and 9.7g fat. It is a very tasty and useful product to have in for those dieting or trying to eat ... Having an addiction to eating out at Nandos during the credit crunch has been pretty tough - although Nandos is fairly cheap for a restaurant, I've been eating in throughout the whole of January as I just can't afford to go out. I therefore looked to see if I could get my peri peri chicken taste in a different way at home! Whilst out shopping at Tesco, I spotted Birds Eye's frozen peri peri chicken grills, and decided to pick it up and give it a try. Are these easy to find? As I said, I got these in Tesco and found them without knowing they existed! I think these are really easy to find - just go to the frozen section in your local Tesco or ... Read the complete review

I thought I'd review these now as I've just tried one after I bought a box a few months ago and they've just been sat in my freezer. I must admit I was slightly dubious at first when I took it out of the packaging and saw the orange coating on the chicken but I was pleasantly surprised. Looks can be deceiving because they're delicious! Peri Peri Chicken Chargrills are produced by Birds Eye so you expect a fair degree of quality. They're a very popular producer with years of knowledge & experience and have been very keen lately to promote their produce to be nutritionally balanced. 'Good mood food' I think Suggs calls it! There's a range of frozen ... Read the complete review

Birds eye chicken peri peri chargrills are currently on offer in Asda for £1 and as I have tried some of the other flavours thought I would pick up a pack of these for the freezer for those want something tasty, healthish (just add lots of veg) and easy to cook nights. Like the other chargrills that Birds Eye do these are relatively low in calories at 160 per breast and the fats only 8.2g but the salt content is a bit on the high side at 0.8g but if you have a balanced diet this shouldn't worry you to much. Birds eye describes them as "Peri Peri Chicken made with marinated chunks of chicken breast meat in a spicy pepper glaze" and that ... Read the complete review

I always look out for these at Tesco as they are often on special offer for just £1 there and it is a good deal. These are made of chicken breast, chopped and formed presumably. Like the other chargrills, they have a slightly damp texture, but it's not unpleasant, just different if you are used to pieces of chicken in breadcrumbs. Because they don't have the breadcrumb coating, but a sort of sticky glaze, they are lower in fat than many other 'coated chicken' products. They are about 160 calories and 2.2g of saturated fat each. The peri peri flavouring is not hot, but it is gently spicy and very slightly sweet. There is even a little of that chargrill ...
