Birds Eye Peri Peri Chicken Chargrills are exactly what they say on the packet. Chicken with a peri peri chargrilled flavour.

There are 2 chicken breast shaped pieces in the box at an average price of £1.79, although there is often offers on where a box is £1. A great price I find. I often purchase these to keep in the freezer for days when I do not have time to cook.

I find this product to be very substantial as a dinner, accompanied by salad or perhaps cous cous. The nutritional values are very appealing, with each piece containing only 170 calories and 9.7g fat. It is a very tasty and useful product to have in for those dieting or trying to eat more healthy.

This product is made with chicken breast that has been marinated in the spicy peri peri glaze. The coating is only on the top of the piece, yet upon it being cooked it can be tasted throughout. It cooks in the oven in 20minutes.

The taste of the chicken is quite a distinctive chargrilled smoky taste with the spicyness of the coating, which is really yummy and makes it an enjoyable taste. It should have a moist texture that is soft and pleasant to chew, on overcooking this product the piece becomes hard and can be chewy and dry.

I would recommend these products as a freezer alternative to fresh chicken that you could marinate yourself, they are great value and have a great taste, just don't overcook them!
