Why I Bought This Product I'm not generally a fan of ready meals, but I was home alone one night so picked this up at the shop as it seemed like an easy option for dinner. What Is It Birds Eye Roast Beef Dinner is a frozen ready meal. The packaging says that it has silverside of beef, delicious meaty gravy, yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes and vegetables. Price I bought it in a special price marked pack for £1.99. It generally retails around £2.29 and is widely available in the freezer section of supermarkets and convenience shops. I used to eat a lot of these ready meals in my bachelor days before I got hitched. I'm a typical man and my culinary skills just about stretch to heating up the old frying pan. (Although I make a mean mince and tatties) So ready meals like this Roast Beef Dinner from frozen food manufacturers Bird's Eye were a real bonus. You just pop them in the microwave or oven, and in no time at all your scoff is ready. Even though I'm now married for over 20 years I still use these ready meals on the odd occasion, mostly to save my missus (or myself) the bother of preparing a fresh meal if I've been out working a strange shift in my taxi, and can't get home for ... I'm trying to use up all the food in my freezer before the weekend as it's crying out to be defrosted, and this is why I found myself eating a Birds Eye Roast Beef Dinner for my tea last night. I don't often eat these types of meal, and I know I definitely didn't buy it, so how it ended up in my freezer I'm not quite sure although I have a sneaking suspicion that my granddaughter brought it with her one weekend. It certainly looks very tasty on the packet, the picture shows a plate heaped up with beef, roast spuds, vegetables and a crisp looking Yorkshire pudding all sitting in what looks to be a rich and appetising gravy. Rest assured it looks ... Read the complete review

I live in a strange household because, although I love to cook, there's really no one to cook for on a regular basis & I usually can't be bothered to cook for myself. Hubby's self-employed in the food business so rarely eats at home whilst older daughter now lives & works the other side of the country & younger daughter (18) is always out & about. I therefore decided, being Bank Holiday, that I'd treat myself to something that could be prepared with minimum effort yet look as if it was a little special. I've eaten ready meals before so I guess I knew what to expect - if you've not tried them & are thinking you'll get ... Read the complete review

I definately prefer to cook a dinner from scatch however this is not always possible so I like to make sure my freezer has 2 or 3 ready meals in it for my husbad and son. If I'm ill everything goes to pot so at least they can feed themselves something! I bought this meal on buy one get one free and over the weekend I was suffering from the migraine from hell, my son had one. Made by birds eye these are currently selling for £2.25 each. Packaging Comes in a box with a picture of the meal on the front and the words Roast Beef Dinner in white lettering with the birds eye logo underneath. Ingredients ... Read the complete review
