Advantages: Easy to prepare,and reasonably priced.

What a timeless classic. I remember eating birds trifle as a child my self, so introduced it to my children who absolutely love it. If your ever stuck for a dessert, give it a go, it ends up perfect every time.
I like to put it into little sundae glasses, and make individual little trifles; the mix usually makes 4 to 6 desserts.
My favourite trifle is the raspberry, but it comes in lots of other varieties last year birds launched a Black Forest gateaux trifle mix which sounds delightful so I will have to give that one ago, but I have yet to see this in store. Other Varieties include chocolate, sherry, strawberry. I personally don't like the sherry one.
The pack contains 5 sachets, which include trifle sponges, custard and jelly mix and to top it all dream topping and chocolate strands. You do need to have plenty of milk in to make this so be prepared.
I usually pay about 99p a pack but I have seen them as cheap as 79p. They are stocked in most supermarkets, Asda and tesco to name two.
I really think birds trifle is a great dessert which you can have at any time, you can add your own personal touches, I like to add fruit, but for children you could add small candy sweets.
