Bisto to me is gravy but there on the shelf was Bisto Cheese Sauce. Aah.... I thought, that looks quick and easy to do, so I bought the container. The container is a cheese sauce colour with a nice blue lid and a picture of cauliflower and broccoli covered in the sauce. It weighs 200g and costs around £1.42. Open the container and peal off the lid and you will see a container full of little whitish granules. So what is it made of? Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, Potato Starch, Maltodextrin, Dried Cheese Powder (9%), Modified Waxy Maize Starch, Dried Glucose Syrup, Salt, Flavourings (Egg, Milk), Sugar, Acidity Regulator (E331), Whey Powder (Milk), ... I like cheese... I like sauces... This alone should mean that I'm going to have a wild night when I put this Bisto cheese sauce on my dinner. **Watcha getting?** Bisto (obviously of gravy fame) have introduced other granulated sauces into their range (makes sense for such an established brand). In my Tesco pootle, despairing at the prospect of a boring dinner, I come across a pot Bisto Cheese Sauce. Success! A cheesy delight in store for me... The pot contains 200g of granules, is exactly as shown on the dooyoo picture, and thus is fairly easy to spot amongst its gravyish cousins. At a cost of £1.25 per pack, I thought ... I would like to say here and now that I am quite capable of making a cheese sauce from the original ingredients - milk, cheese, flour etc. - but when the convenient version tastes this good I just can't be bothered! Yes, I know it contains additives that would not be present in home made sauce, but it's not something that we eat very often so I'll risk it! So what exactly is it then? Well it is Bisto Cheese Sauce. So, if it's made by Bisto, we're should to be onto a winner. It comes in a blue cardboard, tube shaped container with a blue plastic lid - it's the same size and shape as the Gravy Granules container. Obviously the whole ... Read the complete review

Bisto cheese sauce is a convenient way to quickly throw together a pretty tasty cheese sauce. I like to use mine when making a quick lasagne I will mix half of this wih half of the white sauce granules so it doesn't taste purely of cheese sauce. Packaging= Cardboard tubs with plastic lid, stating that each tub makes 31 servings, also making up instructions, nutrition and ingredients. Appearance= Beige coloured granules, they taste better than they look. Usage= You can make to your own desired consistency. For 4-6 servings put 4 heaped dessert spoons in a measuring jug and add boiling water up to the 250ml mark. ... Read the complete review

Bisto cheese sauce has become an essential item in my house at the moment. I find that bland food such as rice and vegetables can get boring, but this sauce really helps put some flavour back in. It is one of the many sauces that Bisto have started to do, including white sauce, parsely sauce and chip shop curry sauce. It comes in a cardboard container with a plastic lid, the same as the gravy variety. It is very easy to use - it is granules like the gravy and all you do is boil the kettle and pour it over the granules. The instructions on the back are: For 4 - 6 servings put 4 heaped dessert spoons in a measuring jug and add boiling water ... Read the complete review
