... Morrisons where we shop... These gravy granules come with an orange plastic lid that clicks on easily and matches the dark orange tub. On the front it says the nation's favourite gravy and I can understand why as you can really tell the difference from store's own brands :) The gravy granules are really tiny like pellets and I'm sure that helps make a smoother gravy as they dissolve so fast it's like watching them melt in hot water when you pour boiling water onto them in the gravy jug. Bisto say you can add thi...more

Premium Review Bisto Chicken Gravy Granules: Perfect accompaniment to a Roast Chicken dinner (378 words)

It's that time of year when the roasts start becoming a weekly event for us. The cold weather needs to have its ups to combat the miserable downs of dark mornings and dark afternoons, and so we turn to the Sunday Roast. With a variety of meats on offer in all manner of supermarkets, we often chop and change. Whenever we have chicken, however, we know that, in our cupboard, we have tub of this sitting there waiting for us to put the icing on the cake. Bisto is a name that carries quality. This gravy is specifically designed to go with chicken rather than other meats, and it really does compliment it very well. There's no chicken in it, if that's what ...  Read the complete review

I do cook an awful lot from scratch as I am a Weight Watcher so avoid a lot of products with 'added extras' in like fats and unnecessary sugars. However one of my pet hates is making gravy so I cheat a lot and make it with granules... Now before you start heckling me through those computer screens I have two excuses for this: 1. I have Osteoarthritis in my spine so by the end of half an hour on my feet in the kitchen the last thing I want to be doing - as delicious as it is - is a meaty sauce from scratch. 2. I cannot make the chuffin' stuff for toffee...it always, but always, goes lumpy and I have to sieve it *Sob*! So on a ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Bisto Chicken Gravy Granules: No chicken in me chicken gravy? (629 words)

For me a good old chicken roast dinner isn't complete without a ton of rich gravy over the top of it! I love gravy but when it comes to the one's I'll eat, I own up.... I'm a bit of a fuss pot! I don't like water gravy that swims off my plate when confronted with a roast potato and if one lump dares to put in an appearance the whole dinner goes in the bin! I don't like lumps and I won't tolerate them! For this reason (and many of my tantrums over the years) my Mother only buys one brand of gravy and it's Bisto. The Packaging: Bright yellow and orangy coloured cardboard tub with an easy pull on/off orange plastic lid to the top of of it. On the front ...  Read the complete review

We had ran out of gravy granules recently so I picked up some Bisto gravy granules for chicken as we eat a lot of poultry and this is nice with turkey too (although you can buy Turkey gravy granules from Bisto too as we have some, lol!)... Mine cost 80p on offer in Wilkinson's food section, I think they should have been a pound which seems expensive but then again you do get a lot of servings out of the carton. The size I am reviewing is 170g and it sold in a round cardboard tub (recycle please!) but Bisto do sell taller one as I've seen them on Morrisons where we shop...
