Advantages: has a lovely rich taste
Disadvantages: none at all for me
With the current credit crunch amongst us I am trying to find ways to save pennies wherever I can and I have cut back on a lot of expensive food stuff and changed to shops own brands but there are a few things I will not do on the cheep, one of those things is my gravy.
The only gravy I will buy is bisto, in my opinion it is the best around and I will always stay with this brand for my gravy.
There are various flavours and sizes you can buy from bisto ie:
Standard gravy in the red container, standard gravy with reduced salt, chicken gravy in a yellow container, onion gravy in a brown container. They also make a bisto best gravy in a glass jar for £1.58, but I find the standard gravy their best.
170g tub costs around 80p
300g tub costs around £1.18
Various shops sometimes have these on promotion, I bought one from asda last month and got 2 gravy's for £2 and they last me quit a while when purchasing this way and I am getting a good deal too.
It is very easy to make the gravy, you just add 4 heaped spoons to half a pint of boiling water. I must admit I never measure out as I like my gravy quite thick so I add accordingly and I use the water I have cooked my vegetables in as it gives even more taste.
The gravy has a lovely rich taste so I add it to casseroles and I also put some into my lasagne and spaghetti sauce to give it an added richness.
This is one product I will stay faithfull to, no matter how much it cost!
Summary: aaaah bisto.
