Black Magic Chocolate: Bring back the old Black Magic (152 words)
by christine - written on 20.03.08

My earliest memories are spending Saturday night at a family friend's house watching telly, waiting with anticipation for the Black Magic. I've seen them change over the last 40 years but they have always remained the best and most appreciated chocolate and my absolute favourites. When I saw the new style box I simply thought they had changed the ...

I took a box what I thought were Black Magic chocolates to my 86 year-old mother. The box contained univiting hard slabs which bore no resemblance to Black Magic. I feel conned. The old lady was disappointed.
The key to the flavours reminded me of the spatial intelligence tests at primary school.
What a dreadful mistake Nestle have made!

nestles what have you done these are terrible chocolates, they are designed for people with no teeth, where has the brazil nut, the hazelnut with toffee, the nougat gone, these new ones are stodgy and bland. whoever had this brainwave needs reassigning (or worse) bring back the traditional black magic box of chocolates, until then i won't be buying anymore of this rubbish
why change a winning formula we were all brought up on black magic and then they were a treat, not alas anymore. i have to give this one star for this review to be accepted but it doesn't warrant it.

Having enjoyed Black Magic for many years,i was most disappointed to find that the new so called Black Magic LUXURY Collection i hear myself 'huff' and 'tut'the 'LUXURY'chocolates are absolutely dreadful greying in colour somewhat but this couldve been the fault of the shops storage-not a patch on the predecessors-bring back the old recipe as ...

I agree with other reviewers that the new black magic product was a huge disappointment.

I used to buy these chocolates on a regular basis for my elderly uncle. He is blind and housebound and it was very diffcult to explain to him that not only had the box shape changed, but that the content was totally different.

His reaction was that the new product was rubbish and not to buy them any more.

I can't imagine what research led to the decision to change the product in his way.

Let's hope they change it back soon!

What an own goal.taking a winning formula (the traditional box of black magic and completley changing the choclates and the box, must be the biggest own goal since "ratnor".
I bought 2 boxs of the new style chocs for my wife for christmas , which were quickley ofloaded to relatives, (they were terrible)
Why change what has been a very long successs story, are Nestle employing a marketing department that thinks changing one of Britains best loved choclates beyond recognition is the way forward- I predict you will be changing your marketing department in the near future...Supermarkets in the Midlands are trying to sell them at 2 for the price of 1, (and thats not working)
COME ON NESTLE- AMDMIT YOU GOT IT WRONG.

What have you done to those wonderful Black Magic chocolates ???? I was so impressed with the packaging , but absolutely horrified when I opened the box . Having ready the reviews so far, I have to agree with all of you. I was delighted to receive two boxes of Black Magic this year for Christmas - yummy I thought. But then I opened the box and saw the boring square shapes, then tasted them to discover that they tasted different - new flavours but not the ones I used to like - no strawberry cream, ...

New Black Magic Chocolates - rubbish, rubbish, rubbish! I hope the powers to be at Nestle soon realise the error of their ways and give us back our old beloved British ones with real dark chocolate and different, really tasty, individually shaped chocolates. Why should anyone think that in a the world's most chocoholic nation changing a ...

Our son gave us a box of Black magic Chocolates for Christmas. We have always said that you can't go wrong with them but apparently you can now. It was such a disappointment as they are so boring compared with the old ones and the silly geometric designs which I am not good at interpreting have meant that I have yet to choose the flavour right. I ...

Black Magic have always been my favourite chocolates, getting through an average of 6 boxes a year. However when I saw the square shaped box in the shops I was a bit suspicious and checked the contents description on the base of the box only to discover that the box did now NOT contain Black Mqgic chocolates but a completely different selection which I would not be interested in trying, never mind buying. They have become just like any other box of chocolates on the market and have lost their individuality and deliciousness.
This is most upsetting and saddening as I am now deprived of my favourite chocs and there is no substitute on the market to take their place for me.

I've been really spoilt today, with flowers and chocolates from my children, so I'm a lucky girl. I was given a box of Black Magic Chocolates, which I must say are one of my favorites. Black Magic chocolates have to be my favourite chocolates around. They are all made from rich dark chocolate which you seem to see less and less as companies try to get their profits up with weaker and weaker milk chocolate, these however contain much more 'chocolate' than most other brands. The box is simple dark colour with little ...
