... that the Chow Mein flavour despite having quite a rich flavour, seems to be a neutral one that pleases all diners. Chow mein is of course not a particularly complicated mixture - consisting of garlic, soya sauce, sesame oil and pepper but getting the proportions right and fiddling around with it is too long-winded for me at the moment and this cheap packet serves as an excellent substitute for the homemade version. The packets are easy to cut open and although the sauce does not generally look enough for two (which is...more

Premium Review Blue Dragon 'Stir Fry' Chow Mein Sauce: Add rice and chicken and you have a meal! (334 words)

The Blue Dragon range is being given a go in our house these days as I'm on the look out for reviewable items and this passes for the type of item I'm looking for. When residing in the UK, I'd probably give this a different rating due to the fact that there's a plethora of sauces to choose from and the competition is quite good. You only really come to appreciate this product when the other Chinese sauces on offer are sweet and bland. I like cooking and I like making up my own sauces but lately I haven't had time, this sachet of chow mein sauce has come in handy, immediately livening up chicken and rice dishes, I just toss it in a frying pan with the chicken ...  Read the complete review

However the other day I was in my local Sainsbury's store and I spotted these little pouches of Blue dragon cook in sauce that looked ideal for a meal for one person and when I read the back of the pouches details it sounded really simple to do! My only problem is at 43p each I couldn't decide which to try as there are alot of flavours available but in the end I decided to try ...  Read the complete review

I love the idea of eating home made stir frys but usually all mine end up tasting the same. Honestly, no matter what i have thrown in it somehow gets this taste that is lacking in flavour and aroma, bland would be a way to descibe it. That was until blue dragon came and rescued me! I love chow mein. It is my favourite chinese dish. I actually think i am obsessed with noodles. What's great is that if you use a little oil it can be a really healthy and nutritious meal. What Blue Dragon say: Blue Dragon Stir Fry Chow Mein Sauce is a subtle blend of fresh onion, soy sauce and spices creates this Chinese classic. What you get and from ...  Read the complete review
