The world of mint humbugs seems to be pretty much the same; whether you get brand names such as Bonds, or go for supermarkets own, they're all much alike. The only major difference tends to be the hardness, which is a matter of personal taste anyway. Bonds humbugs are very hard. You're basically looking at a hard sugar sweet (nostalgically coloured brown), that is too hard to bite through. If you do manage to bite through it, you'll get the humbug equivalent of shards of broken glass inside your mouth. Anyway, the idea is you suck it, and it releases a warm minty taste. I went into my local newsagents yesterday and saw the row of bonds sweets it reminded me I was going to write a review of Bonds humbugs. I bought some at Christmas for presents and some to cook with, Bonds make a selection of sweets that are presented in shops in plastic copies of traditional Victorian glass sweet jars. The sweets are sold loose. Bonds sweets are also the manufacturer of haribo sweets too. Any way At Christmas time I purchased some humbugs I can not remember the price and I not well enough to drag myself to the corner shop to look.
