Advantages: Lots of sticky coconut and chocolate
Disadvantages: none its a sweet
There are chocolate bars and there are chocolate bars and to be fair most of them send me to paradise anyway so as the saying goes take a bite of Bounty and end up in paradise does not really apply in my case. And I'm guessing this is true for a few other chocoholics out there. Now I'm not dissing Bounty far from it, it just one hell of a scrummy bar and I guess in the right situation it might well take me to paradise, but on this occasion I believe I am closer to heaven.
The blue and white wrapper of Bounty is probably very familiar to most of you as is the fact that it is not a chocolate bar BUT TWO CHOCLATE BARS Whooo Hooo.
Both bars are identical in every respect but for some strange reason the second bar always taste that little bit better. perhaps its the knowing that once it has been devoured ( and devour is what I do best to chocolate bars ) there is not much left to look forward too except the getting rid of the last reminder............the wrapper. Each bar is just over three inches long and about one inch wide and just short of three quarters of an inch high
There are many ways to eat a Bounty much in the same way there are of eating a Crème Egg. My favourite however is to nibble round the edge and eat all the chocolate leaving just a thin layer of chocolate on the top and the bottom. I them start from one end a scrum the lot in 3 or 4 quite large bites.
The sweetness of the syrup that binds the desiccated coconut together becomes very evident at this point, but being that the chocolate is not as sweet it seems to balance out quite well. The coconut mixture is quite moist and sticky and extremely delicious if you are a coconut fan. The chocolate as I said is not as sweet as the coconut but does add that little extra kick to the whole sensation. The sadness that overcomes you when you have had the last bite of the last bar is very hard to dispel and in some cases it is indeed a matter of necessity for one to partake of at least one more small bar. This might me considered greed by many but they are obviously not as keen on chocolate as us chocojunkies.
The bars themselves are available in most good confectioners and should not set you back anymore that 45p unless you go to a corner shop whereby it could be absolutely anything. All in all these are a great buy no matter what the price and I for one shall be buying a good few more in the days and months to come.
Summary: A deliciously sensuous bar
