Advantages: Full of chocolate

Disadvantages: Can get a bit sickly.

When I was little I had this neighbour who was from somewhere 'Up the line'. She used to say things like 'I've heard it all beforw' or 'Lorw' (my mums name was Lorraine and she shortened it to Lor) and that used to make me laugh but that's irelevant. Whenever I'd go over to her house she always get this huge bag out of the cupboard. Within the bag was a load of broken biscuits. We were only aloud one (This was a regular pattern in my childhood and I'm guessing that explains why I gorge on just about ever sweet or chocolate I have these days. I just can't eat one! It doesn't feel right!) so you had to make a good choice. The bourbons would go pretty quickly in her house but I would search endlessly through the piles of digestives, shortbreads and cookies just incase one had got away. If I did find one my brother would try and compromise with me but I wouldn't have any of it and eat the lot right infront of his face making 'ummmmmm' noises (I don't know why I did that because I remember getting beaten up a few times because he couldn't control his anger).

For me the bourbon is the king of all biscuits ad nothing even comes close to it not even a chocolate chip cookie. The creamy chocolate which is layered between the two chocolate biscuits either side hits the spot.

Depending on what kind of mood I am in depends on the way I will eat it.
If I'm in a 'I'm bloody craving for chocolate and I'm so hungry I could eat the moon mood' then I I will just shove the whole biscuit into my gob and eat one after the other until I feel really sick or the whole packet disappears. This is nice sometimes and it's nicer if you have a brew although I hardly ever do because I never drink tea or coffee and my hubby hates me dipping in his because he's afraid I'll leave it in too long and it'll break off. They never do though beccause there are so many layers.

If I fancy actually savouring the taste then I will bite off one of the biscuits. You have to be really careful about how you do this because if you are too rough then the biscuit breaks and that ruins everything. Once that is eaten scrape off the cream with my teeth and then inish off the bottom biscuit.

I'm not sure what these are calourie-wise but lets face it, it's going to contain more than a piece of fruit and if you are eating one (or ten) of these then the chances are you don't really care.

Summary: An amazing biscuit!
