Bourbons are not boring! (Bourbon Biscuits)

Bourbon Biscuits are a firm British favourite and can be found in biscuit barrels everywhere! They are pretty much the chocolate equivalent of custard creams, although they have a slightly different shape. I find that these two biscuits compliment each other and are both especially good next to a cup of tea.

Bourbons are basically two chocolatey biscuit layers, that sandwhich a creamy chocolately core layer. This makes for an interesting texture and indeed, I have often known people to first the bourbon in half, and consume the chocolatey middle using their encisors and tongue. I guess bourbons likened to cream eggs - how do you eat yours?

As far as money is concerned, Bourbons are relatively inexpensive. They are generally available in large packets, often in a value variety, such as Tesco's own brand Bourgons. Bourbons therefore make a very economical biscuit in the credit crunch. They are far more reasonable in my experience, than other biscuit varieties such as Chocolate biscuits and cookies. Whilst some biscuits are still cheaper, these are often plain and lack the chocolate or varity of textures than one bourbon contains.

It's very hard to review a biscuit in any length, but I hope that this concise review has persudaded you to consider the humble bourbon, next time you are doing your weekly shop. I love Bourbons, they will always be in my biscuit barrel.
