Premium Review Brie: A stinking lovely (157 words)
by - written on 13/11/09 (Useful, 21 readings)
Rating:

Gooey lovely brie, left on a sunny window ledge to ripen, is the highlight of any lunch time menu. Some crusty bread, a stick of celery and a tomato salad complements the experience wonderfully. Fear not if visitors and interlopers wrinkle their noses at the funky aroma, this mearly adds pleasure to the process. Left in a drawer at work over the ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review It Has To Be Brie! (295 words)
by - written on 28/10/09 (Very useful, 25 readings)
Rating:

I used to love brie but went right off it last year for some reason, this week though I've gone mad on it again and yesterday I got myself a big slice from the Tesco deli that cost about £2.00. Brie is a rich cheese, I usually take mine out of the fridge for a bit before I eat it because that helps the flavour come through better and ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Brie: Thick, sloppy and a bit wet. No, it's not me...! (314 words)

And so begins my second official cheese review for Dooyoo. Brie is not one of more widely discussed cheeses, I tend to sideline it, favouring good cheddars. However, it does have a place in every home, you just need to pick the right occasion. What is it? Obviously it is a cheese, but it a slightly sloppy cheese. The idea is ...  Read the complete review

Crowned Review To Brie, or not To Brie? (812 words)
by - written on 14/05/09 (Very useful, 122 readings)
Rating:

I seem to have embarked on a series of cheese reviews - around the world in 80 cheeses......or perhaps "around the cheese board" would be more appropriate, I don't know! Anyway, today's cheese of choice is Brie - a wonderfully soft cheese made from cows' milk. **If you are pregnant, or suspect you might be ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Brie: brie-lliant (sorry) (176 words)
by - written on 26/03/09 (Somewhat useful, 17 readings)
Rating:

I, unfortunately, do not know very much about the origins of brie, why it is called Brie, why it tastes the way it does, why it looks the way it does, or any of the other ins-and-outs of general cheese knowledge. I do know that I love it with a passion - although not until fairly recently. Last christmas (I gave you my heart) and tried lots of ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Brie is queen of cheese! (252 words)
by - written on 06/08/08 (Very useful, 148 readings)
Rating:

I am writing this with tears in my eyes. I am 8 months pregnant and so I'm not allowed Brie. It is the cruelest thing in the world! Of course, I could go on about how French women eat all sorts of cheese when they are pregnant and there is no harm in it but this is meant to be a review not a therapy session so I will resist!! Brie is ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Brie: Over-rated (105 words)
by - written on 18/05/06 (Somewhat useful, 129 readings)
Rating:

Although oftern referred to as a superior french cheese, it has to be said that there are much better options out there. Take for example Bries' stronger brother, the lucious camembert, full of flavour and fantastically fragrent. This is where Brie falls down, it really is a bit of a non-entity. Oftern popularised by those ...  Read the complete review

Crowned Review Brie: The Prince of Cheeses (1715 words)
by - written on 21/05/02 (Very useful, 2267 readings)
Rating:

Often called as the ‘the Prince of cheeses and the premier of desserts’ Brie is delicious eaten on its own or as ingredient in many different recipes. A VERY BRIEF HISTORY Brie was originally made in France, from a region that straddles the border between Ile-de-France and Champagne, but now it is made in many parts ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Uncultured pallette! (428 words)
by - written on 20/05/02 (Very useful, 204 readings)
Rating:

I really enjoy a nice crisp, French stick, a selection of cheeses, and a bottle or two of good red wine (French, of course.) Stilton, Wensleydale (of Wallace and Gromet fame), Edam, Emental, Haloumi and most of the cheeses our local Tesco stocks, suit me quite well. Most people who write in this category will be telling the ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Brie: Mmmm... (122 words)
by - written on 10/04/02 (Somewhat useful, 82 readings)
Rating:

Brie is a cheese that has a relatively hard white outer cover & a creamy light yellow cheese within. You can eat it on almost any type of bread or cracker, whatever you prefer. It's an extremely tasty cheese and most people do enjoy it thoroughly. Even Brie on it's own in slices is great. You should be careful not to overdo it ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review The flavour counts. (293 words)
by - written on 18/06/01 (Very useful, 384 readings)
Rating:

A glass of wine, a few crackers or fresh crusty bread and a piece of brie. That is a lunch to enjoy on a lovely sunny day. Add a few fresh tomatoes and I am in foodie heaven. The cheese has to come up to my standards though, and very exacting they can be. I have so often been given brie that is hard and tasteless, oh how disappointing ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Brie: Cheesy!! (568 words)
by - written on 11/04/01 (Very useful, 1965 readings)

Ah, French Brie, one of my favourite cheeses. Back in the day when I was a lad I ate cheese. I knew not of types of cheese, only of generic cheese that you put in sandwiches, sprinkle on pasta or use as topping on Pizza. I enjoyed eating cheese, but as I grew older I realised that the cheese I ate was only one type of cheese, and I came ...  Read the complete review
