Saturday is shopping day in our household, well for me and the wife anyway. My son just sits and waits then empties us out when we return. The biscuit aisle in our ASDA is fifth from the right as you stand looking at the aisles. Now I know this because I just love biscuits. All that sugar and chocolate and calories................just yummy. There was a time when I'd try and watch what I ate but I now believe that we should make the most of things while we are here, and if that means having an extra choccy biscuit then that's just a little bonus. Now I guess it's the fact that the nights are drawing and the weather is getting colder, why we seem to be desiring and eating more comfort foods. As an occasional treat both Hubby and I are partial to choccie biscuits. I purchased a double pack of mint Viscount biscuits this week for 85p at Netto. This had 16 mint cream biscuits. Working out at less than 5p a biscuit this represents good value. The outer packaging is a dark, almost black, and green cellophane cover. I have succumbed to the cold, dark, long nights and felt the desperate need for some fat storing produce as if I haven't already been a glutten over the festive period!! It has to be said that I NEVER even entertain the notion of walking up the chocolate / biscuit aisles in the supermarket, but last night, Morrisons had strategically and most would agree, cunningly put a special offer basket at the end of an aisle, sticking out so far that a blind man on a galloping horse couldn't have missed it!
