... underneath the marshmallow and the chocolate ones tasted more chocolaty. The jammie ones were my favourite but for some reason these two new varieties seem to disappear of the shelves as well. But for now I am happy knowing at least part of the childhood memory remains in the form of normal wagon wheels! Wagon wheels packets are bright red with the front dominated by a big bold title, which stretches across the entire packet. Underneath is a picture of some horse pulling a wagon, very relevant. Wagon wheels are two...more

"They're kinda big and kinda round with real milk chocolate and biscuit to be found. under that chocolatey stuff. And they're really squidgy yeah really squodgy you'll be sorry if you don't get enough, you got to eat one bit at a time, but they're so big nobody would mind, if theres a bigger bite it cant be found". Damn, I am getting old. My kids have no idea what I am singing about (and those of you reading this who don't are too young too!). Burton's Wagon Wheels must be older than I am, I certainly cannot remember a time when they were not on a shops shelves. That makes them at least 29! Anyhow, before I get even more bogged down in rambling ...  Read the complete review

OK I'm a big boy now and can, if provoked, do a 6 pack at one sitting. HOWEVER when I was a lad they came in open yellow bags and i swear they were bigger. Its not a sin to have reduced the size but i would love to have it confirmed. ( the chocolate was thicker in 1967 as well ) Why don't Burtons do do a special... a 6" 4 pack, no matter what the price they would sell I'm sure ...  Read the complete review

Wagon wheels have been a round for ages, and i have always bought them. Through out the years they have had a few new additions to their range and a couple of changes. One of these changes was the reduction in size of the wagon wheels.. A shame really as they were monstrous but now days they have been compacted and are significantly smaller. Burtons did however release a couple of extra flavours of wagon wheel. These were Chocolate and jammie. The jammie version had a layer of rich sweet jam underneath the marshmallow and the chocolate ones tasted more chocolaty. The jammie ones were my favourite but for some reason these two new ...  Read the complete review

Burton wagon wheels are a product that are made by the food company burton and have been about for a number of years now. I cant really remember the first time I tried these as it was when I was little however I do remember that my grandma always had these in her house and I always used to get them whenever I visited her. They are basically made up of two large thin circles of chocolate coated biscuit with a marshmallow layer in the middle. The two chocolate circles are pretty big and that's why the biscuits themselves are rather satisfying and filling. The biscuit is very soft and tastes really great. Its similar to the base of the burtons teacakes ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Burtons Original Wagon Wheels: Chunky, a bit bland and not as good as they used to be, nope ... (506 words)

Wagon wheels were launched in the 1940's and named after the Westerns which were so popular during that period. Packaged in a fairly bulky 6 pack you get a red metallic packing material with a picture of two horses pulling a cowboy and wagon, it does give the idea of a western and whilst theres no real appropriateness to that nowadays the idea was that a Wagon wheel was a large chocolate bar which bore a passing resemblance to a wagon's wheel. Each biscuit has 163 calories and 5.8g of fat which is a fair amount for one chocolate biscuit but then this is quite a large biscuit and you would expect this. Each wagon wheel is individually foil packed to ...  Read the complete review
