Advantages: They are big

Disadvantages: none

Take one cup of hot strong hot tea. Add milk and sugar o taste.
Pull up your favourite comfy seat, sit and relax.

What's missing?

A biscuit.

May I suggest a Wagon Wheel, yeah know they been around since the year dot. Nearly everyone has heard on them, but you very seldom hear anyone talking about them.

Why is this then?

Are they old hat?

Not trendy enough?

Boring?

Probably a teensy weensy bit of all of the above. And that's the last time you're gonna be hearing teensy weensy in this review.

These biscuits are BIG and if you are fortunate to be between 5 and 8 then they are HUGE.

Well you'll probably have already guessed that a wheel being round these monsters must be round too. Correct; chalk up one Brownie point. They are in fact approximately 4 and a half inches in diameter, and about half an inch thick.

There are two biscuits sandwiched together by some mystical mallow, which is just so yummy on it's own. They are then covered in chocolate. This is slightly bad news since it is not actual chocolate, just chocolate flavoured. None the less the taste is satisfying, although covering them in real chocolate would make them divine.

On taking a bite the first thing to strike you is that you still have one heck of a size of biscuit left, this in turn gives a warming feeling since the mix of biscuit and chocolate in that first bite is just so MMMMMMMMMmmm. I could not however taste much of the mallow until I discovered a secret.

Break the biscuit in two along the join of the two sections. You are now left with two still rather big biscuits. One will have most of the mallow and one obviously will have very little. Now you have a choice of which to eat first or alternatively you could just lick all the mallow of for the hell of it.The biscuit is crunchy but not so that it will break any teeth, but even without teeth the mallow is sweet and sticky and just magical. The chocolate flavour covering does taste like chocolate but does not have the same texture and creaminess, none the less it is oncwe again sweet and tasty.

As per usual I'm not going into all the calories and fat content, because if your gonna eat one of these monsters you aren't exactly thinking along slimming lines are you?

I have seen them ocassionally on offer individually but the ones I purchased came in a six pack....................................MMmmmmmm a six pack that brings back memories. OOOOps sorry wrong kind of six pack.

More often than not they are on special offer at ASDA at about £1.20 for two packs. that works out at 10p a biscuit, which is great value in anyone's books.

The wrapper is bright red in colour with a picture of an old west stagecoach and the word Burtons Wagon Wheels on the front.
The rear of the wrapper contains all nutritional and calorific info.

I have to recommend these if not wholly for the taste but the value for money. Kids seem to love them, so being a big kid I'm just going with the flow.

Whatever you choose enjoy your next cuppa, be it tea or coffee and do have a Wagon Wheel they are wheely Good.

I have noticed recently that they are advertised with real chocolate. Is this a BIG BONUS or what?

Summary: A big bite to fill the morning hunger gap

I preferred these when they had jam in the middle, I'm not sure if they are still available but I haven't seen them for ages....the choc tasting ones just don't taste the same! Also do you not think they look smaller these days as well or is it just me who's growing hmmmmm I wonder?
