Wagon Wheels
The Wagon Wheel is a great choice for eleven O clock teas, as part of a packed lunch or even to have as a quick fix snack. The Wagon Wheel has been a popular biscuit/bar in our household for as long as I can remember and for me it has to be my favourite snack type bar.
The Wagon Wheel comes in two different flavours there is the original or the Jammie one. The original is of course the best and the one that I am now reviewing.
On the packaging the Wagon Wheel is described as a delicious mallow filled biscuit covered with a chocolate flavoured coating. This is exactly what it is and although described in a simple way it still sounds tempting and something that appeals to me.
The Wagon Wheel comes in simple red packaging and there are six Wagon Wheels per multi pack. I don't think that these bars are sold individually. They cost around the £1 mark depending on where you go and sometimes if you re lucky enough you could get them on a special offer such as buy one get one free.
The Wagon Wheel themselves are basically round chocolate bars. They seem to be getting smaller as I am getting older as when I was a lot younger I thought that they were possibly the biggest chocolate bar I had ever seen. But now they are just an average sized bar and actually once I have eaten one I still feel as though I could squeeze in another one.
The Wagon Wheel has a thin coating of chocolate all over the whole bar. Under the thin chocolate layer on top is a thick layer of marshmallow which is coloured white. Then making the bar become more solid is the biscuit base that holds the whole thing together nicely.
The chocolate is a lovely flavour and not too sickly or sweet. Where the layer of chocolate is only thin I think this helps to keep the Wheel from being over sickly. The marshmallow layer however is probably the sweetest part of the Wagon Wheel and you can slightly taste the sugar that it is made from. Although the mallow itself is very much light and fluffy but very very sticky. The final section of the Wagon Wheel is the biscuit layer at the bottom and this biscuit has got to be one of the tastiest I have ever eaten. It is slightly moist from being under the marshmallow layer and this gives it a lovely sticky consistency that just seems to crumble wonderfully in the mouth.
I do really like to eat these chocolaty Wagon Wheels and they are truly in a league of their own when it comes to confectionary. I would suggest to anyone who has not tried them to rush out now and buy a packet and enjoy every last one. And to people who haven't tried them for years then they will remember what they are missing.
I hope this has been of help to you. Thanks for reading xxxxxx
Summary: a great snack morning noon or night
