Advantages: Tasty

Disadvantages: Not enough chocolate

Chocolate, biscuit and marshmallow what could possibly be better? I love all three of those things and that's why I think Burtons Original Wagon Wheels are so great, they are basically a chocolate biscuit with marshmallow coated in chocolate. Looking at the titles of the other reviews on here I can see that a lot of people seem to think they have shrunk, I don't remember how big they were to able to comment on that but I think even if they have they are still good, there's just a little less of the goodness than there was before.

They can be bought in packets of various sizes depending on where you buy them but the most common ones are the 6 pack and the 12 pack. I buy them in packets of 6 because then my husband & I are not tempted to eat too many and they cost me about 50p which is fairly cheap. They come in a red plastic wrapper with the picture of a wagon on the front which is what these biscuits have been named after. The packets are also very long because inside the wagon wheels are packed in a row of three with three more on top. Inside the packet the Wagon Wheels are individually wrapped to keep them nice and fresh.

They have a distinct smell of chocolate which just entices you to eat it. I was slightly disappointed by how thin the layer of chocolate was but it does sufficiently cover the entire biscuit and has a nice sweet chocolate taste. The biscuit is next, it is quite crunchy and has a sweet taste but isn't the best bit of the biscuit. For me the best bit is the marshmallow in the middle which is soft and marshmallowy and goes really well with the chocolate. The marshmallow and the biscuit have a nice contrast with one being soft and the other crunchy. All three parts of this taste great together, sweet but not too sweet.

Overall I think that these are a great biscuit but I prefer the jammie version which as you may have guessed has jam in the middle as well as the other things. This is a nice biscuit but it is high in sugar and fat so be careful.

Summary: Try the jammie ones
