I picked one of these up when I went to my village shop yesterday as I hadn't had one for years. THE PACKAGING The boost comes in a blue wrapper with the title across the middle in white bubble writing and the words 'charged with glucose' in red and yellow lettering underneath. On the back of the wrapper are the ingredients and the nutritional values and also contact details for the maker Cadbury's. TASTE The inside of the bar has a very smooth chocolate with pieces of biscuit inside and is covered in a soft caramel layer and then the whole bar has been covered with milk chocolate. There is a great taste to the bar ... Read the complete review

Whilst looking round my local corner shop, I started to look at the chocolate. Not really eating a great deal of chocolate, I normally tend to look and think do I want something or shall I do without, which is what I was going to do today until a huge red logo on a particular chocolate bar said 29p. I looked to investigate what it was and it was a Cadbury Boost. Being one of my favourites when I do indulge I could miss that 29p opportunity and picked one up, looking forward to getting it home, undressing it and having a couple of damn fine moments with it. Cadbury's Boost have been around for years, I think they used to do them in other flavours too and they ... Read the complete review

The Cadbury Boost bar was introduced in 2003, so it has been on the market for a while, although it does not appear to have had a lot of product promotion work done on it recently, so most people will not be aware that it is not simply 'another chocolate bar'. This chocolate bar is designed to increase mental alertness and energy. This market is dominated mostly by the energy drinks market but Boost contains guarana, a South America plant extract that is used to stimulate the mind and physical motor response. This is supposed to make you feel energised and more alert. One bar contains 54mg of caffeine. This is similar to the amount found in a ... Read the complete review

Someone said in their review that Boost was introduced in 2003 :S I have found that Boost was around in the 80's! It was actually launched in 1985. Cadbury's manufacture these little bars of loveliness in the Republic of Ireland, and they are sold in the UK, South Africa and even as far away as Australia. In Ireland they are called Moro bars...I think boost sounds better! And is probably a truer description! In 2002 a new green wrappered Boost was launched, which included the natural stimulant guarana. I have not tried this variety so I will concentrate on the original biscuit version. Having been on a (short) healthy eating spell, I had a ... Read the complete review

There are a couple of varieties of the boost bar and the one I'm reviewing is the one with the extra glucose s I tend to use it when I need an energy boost. To be honest it is just an excuse to eat chocolate but I like to convince myself it serves another purpose. The idea behind boost is to provide extra energy and to make you more entally alert, it does this with a combination of glucose and caffeine in the bar as well as guarana which is a natural stimulant. The bar itself is coated in a nice tasty milk chocolate and inside there is a layer of caramel and a crumbly soft buiscuit centre. Because of the number of stimulants and the fact that it is ...
