Advantages: Chocolate and orange, together!

Disadvantages: Bars a little too big

Orange and chocolate is a genius combination, for that reason I'm a huge of a certain famous chocolate orange but have become a bit miffed lately at the cost of them and that the bar versions aren't quite the same, it should be the same chocolate inside but the taste doesn't quite hit the spot.

Imagine my utter delight when I spotted a new variety of Cadbury chocolate in my local Co-op recently, a bar of dark Bournville chocolate with orange. The fact it was a largeish size didn't put me off buying one, after all there was no way on Earth I wouldn't enjoy this.

The chocolate is sold in bars of 180gm, the packaging is a bright orange in colour to stand out on the supermarket/sweet shop shelves and also features the classic red Bournville logo on the front.

I thought the chocolate would simply be well, chocolate laced with the flavour of oranges but I was pleasantly surprised on taking my first bite that the chocolate has tiny little crystalised orange pieces throughout it containing pieces of orange peel (and for some reason apple!) . They're very slightly crunchy and also chewy which is a nice contrast to the bitter and smooth dark chocolate.

I did well to make the bar last a whole week as it's moreish enough to tuck into with gusto once you get the taste for it. I find putting it in the fridge firms up the chocolate making the eating experience even better.

It's been noted by some that this chocolate contains less cocoa than some milk varieties and therefore shouldn't be called dark chocolate and can be a little too sweet but I'm not fussy and will happily chow down when I want a sweet fix.

The only bad thing about this chocolate is that at the moment it isn't available in smaller bars to enable a fix at a lower price.

Summary: A gorgeous sweet treat
