Advantages: Cheap , reasonably tasty , dunkable .

Disadvantages: Not enough chocolate, biscuits not as nice as other digestives .

I bought these Cadbury Milk Chocolate Digestives some time ago from Asda when the Cadbury biscuit range were on offer . They were 3 packs for £2 I think and there were quite a few different flavours . The bannoffe pie one turned out to be the unexpected favourite . However the Cadbury Chocolate Digestive was our least favourite and , as such , rather disappointing .

As always one sight of the Cadbury purple wrapping and logo and I assume the contents will be the best thing since sliced bread . I must stop being so brain washed .

So opening the wrapper you are faced with some fairly attractive biscuits which have a coating of Cadbury milk chocolate on one side and Cadbury imprinted on the plain biscuit other side .

The Cadbury milk chocolate coating has the usual distinctive flavour but is on the thinnish side . Usually half coated chocolate biscuits have quite a thick coating . These however are ok but could do with much more chocolate . Even the rich Cadbury flavour was not enough to save the day .The biscuit itself is a rather pale looking digestive biscuit . Biting in to it I discovered it's a fair bit harder and crunchier than I would expect of a digestive biscuit .

These biscuits do taste ok , and they pass the dunk test admirably . They probably dunk well as they are quite hard and the chocolate is not overly thick . They smell alright but do not have that much of an arome .

As a pack of biscuits , bought on special , they were fine . They did taste much nicer than lots of ones sold at similar prices. They were disappointing however as they did not live up to the Cadbury image and reputation I know so well .

So Cadbury's half coated Milk Chocolate Digestives are recommended , but only just .

Thanks for reading

Summary: A poor imitation of Mcvitie's chocolate digestives .

Choc and digestive should never mix!

Yep I agree - I tried these and though I love Cadburys chocolate, nothing beats McVitie!
