Advantages: Quite tasty, cadbury's chocolate

Disadvantages: Unhealthy, gimmicky, nothing special

On going to Asda at lunchtime [thanks to a lift from my friend Wirginia in her Vectra (yes she asked me to write that)], I spotted these peeking off the end of an aisle, on offer at £1. The packet is pretty eye-catching in its bright red and purple, and I'd been meaning to try them for a while but never got round to it.

In my current back-to-dooyoo-review-frenzy, I decided the office should try them so I could give you a more rounded view of what they're like.

Firstly, I will say that the packaging is probably the best thing about this product. It's well made, attractive, and it has a resealable fastening (as if you'd need that!).

Eager to get into the chocolate, I ripped it open easily and passed it round. The chocolate pieces certainly looked interesting, being a variety of shapes and sizes which adds a bit of interest.

Biting into one though, I wasn't particularly impressed. They just taste like chocolate cornflake cakes with raisins, nothing special at all. They are quite moreish, and nicer than the clusters you get in plastic boxes of the supermarket's own brand, but only because these are made with cadbury's chocolate.

At £1 a bag for 150g(ish), it's far cheaper to make your own at home, and maybe even more fun. Another disadvantage is the sizing. People like me, who have to finish eating chocolate if they've started it and it's there, will end up having far too much...! It's too small for parties, and for small gatherings, it's cheaper to make a batch of good sized cornflake cakes. Even if you did buy them for a small group, they'd all be gone, rendering the reusable seal useless. So I guess that part is a slightly gimmicky thing aimed at those few people that have self-control when it comes to chocolate.

Overall, try them if you're curious, but you definitely won't be missing out if you don't.

Summary: Meh.
