I don't eat a lot of ice cream, but I do enjoy a Creme Egg McFlurry from McDonalds when they are available. So when wandering around my local Morrison's the other day, I spotted the familiar Creme Egg packaging looking up at me from a free-standing freezer in the middle of the aisle, I had to take a closer look.

I wasn't aware that Cadbury made Creme Egg ice cream and had never seen it before, but on closer inspection I decided I would have to have some!

The packaging :- The ice cream comes in a square plastic box, not the rounded shape as shown on the photo here. The box is quite small, around 5" x 5" but is quite deep, and has the familiar Creme Egg design of red, purple and yellow. The tub contains 1 litre of ice cream.
It also states it is a Limited Edition, which I am saddened to read as after tasting this ice cream, it is definately something I will want to buy again and again!

On the lid it states 'Delicious Ice Cream with added goo' and that sums it up perfectly I think. The ice cream is smooth white vanilla, with added Cadbury chocolate pieces and that gorgeous yellow fondant sauce that you find in Creme Eggs, swirled through it.
It tastes delicious and very much like a Creme Egg McFlurry, so if you like those you will not be disappointed!

It does say that it may contain nuts so please be aware if you suffer from a nut allergy, and also may contain wheat.

A 62g (100ml) serving contains 150 calories which I don't think is too bad for a treat, even if you're meant to be on a diet like myself!
I had some fresh strawberries with mine and it was lovely. My daughter had a nougat wafer with hers, which looked very tempting but I was good and stuck with the strawberries!

All in all this is the best ice cream ive bought for a long time, and its just a shame it's not going to be available all year round. Maybe that's probably a good thing though in some respects, as my diet may have to be abandoned otherwise!

A 1 litre tub of Creme Egg ice cream is currently on offer at Morrisions for £1.92, which is a pound cheaper than the usual price.
