Cadbury Crunchie Blast
---------------------------------
100ml ice cream
MAY CONTAIN TRACES OF PEANUT AND NUTS
Keep frozen -18 degrees
Suitable for vegitarians
What Is It?
--------------
This is a honeycomb flavoured ice cream lolly based on the theme of the good old Cadburys 'Crunchie' chocolate bar.
The ice cream is covered in milk chocolate which is encrusted popping candy.
Packaging
--------------
The ice cream comes in a deep purple wrapper which has a yellow frontage with the words 'Cadburys Crunchie Blast - with Popping Candy.....explodes in your mouth' written on the left hand side, and a delicious looking ice cream lolly on the right hand side.
The picture of the ice cream is very similar to the actual product, though the honeycomb on the actual ice cream seems smaller in size to the pictured article.
The Ice Cream
--------------------
I unwrapped this long, oval ice cream which was fairly impressive in size.
The stick on which the ice cream was adhered to, was wooden and also oval shaped with the word 'Cadbury' printed in brown writing on the stick.
The ice cream was covered in milk chocolate which I hoped would be up to Cadbury's usual high standard. The chocolate was encrusted with lots of bits which looked like bits of honeycomb.
As you may imagine, I couldn't wait to bite into it as the smell of sweet chocolate and honeycomb was inviting.
On Biting It
---------------
I bit into the brown chocolate which broke away from the ice cream with a welcoming crack. The chocolate was fairly impressive, although a little on the thin side, but broke away in large thin shardes.
The little encrusted lumps in the chocolate turned out to be a popping candy which popped in the mouth. I seem to remember this having a honeycomb taste. This was a nice touch and made you feel like a big kid. (We used to have Stardust as kids - not recommended for dogs though).
The ice cream behind the chocolate was a lovely sunkissed golden yellow - just like the Crunchie bars. This tasted of honeycomb and was not too sickly. The smell was lovely - chocolate and honeycomb! Ummmm! The honeycomb flavoured ice cream was roughly an inch thick and rested solidly on the wooden stick.
Once Finished
--------------------
Yum! There are a couple more in the freezer, but I think one is enough for tonight.
Cost Of Ice Cream
-------------------------
£2.00 for three ice creams that come in cardboard packaging identical to the wrapper. Brought in Sainsburys in freezer section.
Fat
-----
I am now!! No only joking, the Fat content is 13.5g with 9.0g as which saturates. This is per 100ml.
My Opinion
---------------
Delicious, though eating too many would probably be a bit sickly. I would buy these again if I was after a tasty snack when the kids have gone to bed. I think they were value for money.
Perhaps a slither of a plain ice cream in the very centre of the ice cream would have made this product less sickly.
Yummy! now where's the fruit 'n' nut..........
Summary: A very tasty treat
