Advantages: Cadburys

Disadvantages: A weird eating experience

We have friends over to eat quite a lot. I don't tend to get a pudding in because they eat quite healthily and we try to only eat rubbish one day a week. A few weeks a go everyone fancied something after the meal so the men went to the shops and came back with these. I was a bit diapointed to be honest because I quite fancied a proper chocolate bar.

For those you who don't know a Crunchie blast is a ice cream based bar which looks exactly like a crunchie only it's slightly bigger. Inside the Cadbury's chocolate is vanilla ice cream and small chunks of honeycomb.

When you bite the top off of the Crunchie there is a satisfying crunch and your teeth glide through the ice cream. The chocolate begins to melt into the ice cream as your mouth heats it up. The most significant thing about this bar is what happens next. You will find that the bar explodes in your mouth! At almost the same time you will hear lots of 'snapping' and 'crackling' that gets louder when you open your mouth and you will feel them popping all over your tongue. It reminds me of the popping candy that you can buy for 10p.

The ice cream is very creamy and you can tell that it's not some cheap, low quality stuff. It reminds me of the top end stuff so they definitely haven't skimped in the department.

The bar is very sweet and I don't think I would like it at all if there was no chocolate on it but you can always count on a bit of Cadburys to spice up any food.

After spending a week or two thinking about this product, I am still not sure if I actually like it. I was a little confused by it to be honest. I tend to separate my sweet treats into two categories; the chocolate based products and the sweeties. As far as I'm concerned these shouldn't really mix which is why I am not sure on this product. Like I have already said it was a high quality product and you can't expect anything less from Cadbury's but it was a rather odd experience and even when I got to the end of the bar, I still was sure about it.

The bar is quite substantial and I definately couldn't eat another one as it is quite sickly. I'm not one for not finishing what I started but I always used to find that I couldn't finish a bag of Crunchie nuggets because they were too sickly.

It contains 220 calories and 13g of fat per bar so it's not the best for people on a diet (like me).

I think this product needs to be tried at least once to see if you find it good or bad. I am sure it is a product that you will leave you a little confused as to whether you actually enjoyed the whole eating experience.

Summary: I'm not sure so you'll have to try it!

Nicely written and a good review. Loved the first line. You inadvertently made me LOL. Wasn't sure if your friends like to feast on the contents of your fridge ("eat quite a lot"), or whether you have lots of people come over to have a meal ("quite a lot of friends over to eat"). I suspect its the former. 8^)
