Advantages: tasty, lovely texture, colour, packaging
Disadvantages: calories & fat
I've been feeling really sorry for myself the past week as I've got a severe chest infection plus pneumonia - I'm trying my best to rest but have Dooyoo withdrawal symptoms & have missed reading & writing reviews!
I've lost my appetite & can't move around that well at the moment so I was SO pleased when my younger daughter came home with a bar of Dairy Milk which. I may add, was consumed bery quickly.
Cadbury's chocolate is by far my favourite & you can keep your Thorntons & Belgian stuff! I love the famous purple packaging, the logo & the chocolate pictures on the front. The wrapper is easy to tear open whilst the foil keeps the bar fresh & the chocolatey smell when you open it is mouthwateringly lovely.
The colour, in my opinion, is just how milk chocolate should be - not too pale or too dark & the depth of the chocolate is nice & deep unlike some bars which can be eaten in no time at all. Each bite is therefore fairly substantial & the bars are filling.
Cadbury's have been making chocolate now for over 100 years & I've never been disappointed with any of their choc range whether it be Easter eggs, Christmas novelties, plain, with fruit, fruit & nuts etc - all yummy in my opinion & I shall continue to buy unless they change their recipes.
I like chocolate straight from the fridge & biting the hard chocolate which gradually melts in the mouth. It doesn't stick to the teeth & doesn't leave an aftertaste as some more bitter chocolates do.
If you're lucky you can buy a plain Dairy Milk (49g) bar for under 50p but of course the bigger the size the more it's going to cost unfortunately.
Now for the bad news.... each small bar contains 255 calories & 14.6g of fat ... oh dear! Also it may not be suitable for some as it may contain nuts, traces of wheat & soya.
summary
~
- not the cheapest chocolate in the world but, in my opinion, the best.
- lovely colour, texture & taste.
- healthwise not good but great to thoroughly enjoy for a treat.
Summary: my favourite chocolate

- 23/06/09 I'm not sure they should really be allowed to call this chocolate. It's a sort of fatty lump of stodge more than anything. |
