First Impressions Usually when I buy a chocolate bar it’s because I am stranded somewhere starving and knowing I have a long wait till I get home. Therefore I really want to get something substantial that is actually going to satisfy the hunger pangs for a while. I discovered that a Double Decker was the best thing for this a few years ago. It was bought for me when my requested Bounty bar was out of stock and after an initial mock sulking period I tucked in. I had always been put-off by the Double Decker’s packaging I think. It is a relatively obscure bar and except for a rare and boring advertising campaign a while ago I had never really registered it. ... Read the complete review

This is a beast of a chocolate bar and one I only bother with if I'm more hungry rather than only in need of a chocolate fix as it is very filling and certainly I find one is more than enough which is not always the case with other chocolate bars. There are lots of different textures in this bar and with it comes some different flavours as well. On the outside there is a layer of thick milk chocolate which is very nice tasting and is very smooth as well on the tongue. Inside there is a layer of chocolate cereal busicuit base which is very crisp to the bite however this is complemented by a layer of chewy nougat which is one of the reasons why this ... I wouldn't describe myself as a chocoholic, but I do often have a craving for chocolate. Most of the time I manage to suppress the urge, but every now and then - when I'm stressed especially - I cannot resist the lure of a nice bar of chocolate to help de-stress me. But which bar do you choose..? With the huge amount of choice out there, it's often hard to decide. I tend to go through stages of buying one particular bar again and again, and when I've had enough of it, move on to another type. This sums up my relationship with Cadbury Double Decker: if I haven't had one for a while, I look forward to it, but after eating a few bars, I can't wait to move on to something ... After my earlier dalliance with the remaining Smarties I had left in the tube I thought I'd had my chocolate fix for the day, that was until my wife sat down with a cup of tea and a Cadburys Double Decker. Much to her annoyance I asked her to break me a bit off as this is one chocolate bar I have not eaten in years. Reluctantly she has generously provided me with a corner of said chocolate bar and I have to say I'm rather impressed. To be honest, I'd forgotten how chunky they actually are and found myself enjoying the piece that was so generously donated to me. Packaged in the wrapper as shown above the chocolate covered chewy bar doesn't seem to ... Read the complete review

I believe the Double Decker was first released in 1976. The name refers two the two layers of the chocolate bar, which represent a double-decker bus. It used to have some raisins at the base of the bar, but these were removed in the late 1980's. PACKAGING I find that the Double Decker chocolate bar stands out on shelves, firstly because it is slightly chunkier than other bars, and also the packaging. The packaging is divided into two colours; orange and purple. These colours represents the two layers of the chocolate, and keep it simple. Perhaps not the most artistic designs, but as I said, simple, and represents an addition to the Cadburys ... Read the complete review
