Advantages: Crunchy, creamy and pretty yummilicious

Disadvantages: None

I seem to have been on a bit of a journey of rediscovery recently when it comes to chocolate bars recently. Despite my efforts to watch my calorie intake every time I have passed the chocolate stand in the supermarket I have had the urge to revisit a chocolate bar from my past for dooyoo purposes...honestly.

A couple of days ago I was tackling the weekly shop in Tesco's and feeling emotionally worn dowm by the busy supermarket and my 2 noisey children. I scanned the chocolate stand and the distinctive purple and orange wrapper of a Double Decker jumped out at me. I used to love these when I was younger, they used to be my absolute favourite chocolate treat, however in recent years I have tried to cut down on the amount of chocolate I eat and rather than whole bars like this I tend to buy bars that can be broken down into smaller chunks.

I finished the shopping, turfed the kids outside to play and put the kettle on. I opened the wrapper, took my first bite and was immediately reminded of exactly why I had loved this fab and yummy chocolate bar. The layer of Cadbury milk choclate is exactly as you would expect and it's creamy flavour really gets your tastebuds going. Underneath this yummy chocolate layer you then find the real treasure of a Double Decker and what makes it unique and different to all other choclate bars. The 'Double Deck' consists of a top layer of chewy and creamy nougat and a bottom base of crunchy, chocolatey biscuit. The contrasting flavours and textures just work amazingly well and result in a really satisfying way.

After a full bar I did feel as though I had over indulged and this for me will have to be an occasional treat rather than an everyday occurance. I picked the bar up for about 40p from my local Tesco's.
