Advantages: Superb taste.
Disadvantages: Some bad news in the nurtritional information.
Cadbury's Double Decker, one of life's great delight.
The Double Decker is comprised of a base of rice crispie-esque cereal which has been draped in melted Cadbury's milk chocolate which has been subsequently allowed to set. On top of this layer of chocolate encrusted rice crispies, a layer of vanilla flavoured chewy nougat has been added. The nougat is similar in nature to the Snicker's bar nougat but minus the nuts and is slightly smoother. Both layers are then contained with a thing layer of Cadbury's milk chocolate.
This chocolate bar is an absolute delight. For me, there are two main methods of consuming this bar. The first one is to just eat it normally, one bite at a time. This is tremendous, you first bite into the soft, chewy nougat and then penetrate the crunchy base with is of great satisfaction. The diffusion of the chocolatey crunch flavour into the soft smooth nougat is simply divine. The second method is to separate the layers from each other; in this fashion you can enjoy the considerable merits of both layers on their own and is equally satisfying.
Nutritionally, you are getting 275 calories per bar - one word: ouch. That is some amount, almost 15% of a man's RDA and getting on for 20% for a woman. That's a sizeable chunk and more than most other bars out there. 40.2 grams of sugar which is almost half of your RDA for that and 11.4 grams of fat. All in all, not great news. But you know what, the taste will make you not care.
All in all, a great chocolate bar and a very guilty pleasure.
Summary: Great chocolate bar.
