Advantages: good chocolate
Disadvantages: too crumbly messy
Cadbury flake.
Cadbury flakes have a long history they were born in 1920 when my now deceased parents were children.
Apparently Cadbury flake was conceived by a worker who noticed that the spills from chocolate bar formed a flaky crumbly overflow of chocolate. The management tried this chocolate and was impressed and the flake chocolate bar was born.
Flake bars made from that delicious Cadbury chocolate, the taste we tend to compare other chocolates.
Flakes were originally just the standard dairy milk chocolate taste. Now there are various flavors of chocolate and 2 sizes. .Let me tell you about the standard dairy milk flake first .The layered flakes of chocolate are formed into a fat stick of chocolate length sorry not got one here to measure , its about the length of the span between my thumb index finger when stretched out.
This finger of chocolate is wrapped in a yellow package there have been a few slightly different designs over the years.
There are similar flake sticks made by other companies often owm brands they are usually no where near as nice .
Make sure you do not carry it to school at the bottom of your book bag and be careful when you pick it up and this is a serious warning! If you crush this chocolate in your hand or under your Moths book (or anything heavy for that matter) all you will get is a wrapper full of crumbs yes only the crumbliest flakiest little pieces.
Another warning this time about eating your flake, OH crumbs yes those little flakes that taste like chocolate never tasted before. If you are not careful you will get tiny flakes of this chocolate all over your chest when you bite the chocolate flake.
Well I can eat my flake without getting in a mess sometimes and find the flake delicious creamy chocolaty. The adverts for this chocolate usually feature attractive ladies lusting after and being satisfied by this chocolate being seduced by its elegance. Usually the flake is opened in a suggestive way and eaten in a way that is suggestive too and the crumbs of flake brushed off the chest (what a waste I always pick mine off and eat them.)
The slogan only the crumbliest flakiest chocolate tastes like chocolate never tasted before has been with us for a long time , but in the 50'sand 60's the slogan was sixpence worth of heaven the adds in black and white were cutting it close to the edge very sexy . In fact Cadburys have really used sex to sell this chocolate stick, attractive women eating chocolate se32g 170ductively and suggestively. .
Now the bit we don't like about flake the calories although these are a light tasting chocolate they contain 76kcal per stick which weighs 32g.
Flakes do not contain gluten, wheat or egg them suitable for a Celiac:
As well as the classic milk flavor f lakes now come in a variety of flavors a plain chocolate on a white chocolate flake too .Flakes come dipped in chocolate to give a n outer coating to the flake . There is a praline hazel nut one too. .
Many products use a flake you can get 99 ice creams the soft ice cream in a cone with a flake stuck in it. Chocolate cakes can be bought with a flake on top of them.
Flakes are good to use for cake decorating, Crumbled they make good thatch for a country cottage cake, and Flakes look good as a nest with a chocolate egg in for the top of the Easter egg cake. Flakes are ideal for the tree trunk on a tree cake decoration
Summary: A chocolate made out of chocolate flakes
