Advantages: A selection of different miniature bars, One for everyone!

Disadvantages: CHOCOLATE ECLAIR

Well I've been feeling a bit down this week with all the packing up of my son's things for Uni (his room looks so EMPTY and TIDY!) thought I would treat us to a tin of Cadbury's Heroes as they are back in stock ,for Xmas I expect! Last week I saw Advent Calenders for sale!!!

Well we all love the chocolates in these tins as there are many favourites in mini form from the much loved bigger bars in the shops. Well could things get worse they sure could, they have removed the Picnic and Crunchie bars and replaced with can you believe it a Chocolate Eclair and Bournville bar!

Maybe the Bournville bar isn't to bad but a CHOCOLATE ECLAIR thats not even a miniature, it's the same size! I feel like I have been cheated and ripped off!! On looking on the tin I notice that you cannot find the word miniature anymore and that they are just known as Cadburys Heroes I never saw that one happen.

On delving further I went on to investigate and discovered that from 2008 they slowly got rid of not only Crunchie and Picnic, but Nuts about Caramel, Time Out and Dream bars ( I never liked Dream bars so I'm not worried about them !). I had forgotten about the other bars that had slowly disappered over time.

Now the only good change is that they have put in a new mini Twisted Creme Egg bar so that went down well, so well they all went in the first five minutes!!

You will find this large round purple tin sitting at the end of an aisle now as it will be about until after Christmas. It is very noticable with it's brightly coloured sweet wrappers around the side of the tin and on top as well. The tin weighs 918g net 950g inc wraps, the best before on this tin is 04 2010.

On opening you will be met with a bright variety of different colours from the many mini bars in their colourful wrappers. You do not need one of those little slips of paper that tells you what is in each wrapper as it is obivous straight away as you will recognize each individual bar.

This tin now has the following bars in, well it did yesterday who know's if they don't change them again before Christmas!!

~~~Cadbury Dairy Milk~~~
~~~Creme Egg Twisted~~~
~~~Cadbury Fudge~~~
~~~Cadbury Twirl~~~
~~~Bournville~~~
~~~Cadbury Dairy Milk Caramel~~~

and of course the big cheat ~~~Cadbury Eclair~~~

I haven't been able to find out the calorie content of each individual bar so it has to be a mixed handful of 100g which is a whopping;

~~~Calories 515~~~
~~~Protein 5.8g~~~
~~~Carbohydrate 60.0g~~~
~~~of which sugars 57.1g~~~
~~~Fat 28.2g~~~
~~~of which saturates 17.0g~~~
~~~Fibre 0.5g~~~
~~~Sodium 0.10g~~~
~~~Equiv as salt 0.25g~~~
These are great to have as a one off, as they are quite morish and you can quite easily keep dipping into the tin without noticing and it's not until you are sitting in a sea of multi coloured wrappers that you have to grab them up as fast as you can without letting anyone see what a greedy pig you've been!!!
At present they are on offer in Tesco's with Roses, Quality Street and Celebrations £10 buy one get one free, so thats a good deal. The other one I got was Celebrations as this comes in a plastic tub and on the lid say's it is reusable, when reading on you can use this in the microwave
so these will be going to Uni with my son as I'm sure he will find a way of using this when his is up there.
Sorry about the rant at the beginning, but I do like to have my mini Picnics and Crunchie bars as a treat at Xmas!!!!!
I will give this 4 stars because of the Chocolate Eclair!
Summary: Nice for the odd treat, but not to often as quite morish!!
I Loved the mini Crunchies too.
The chocolate eclairs are probs cheaper, it's very annoying when they change our favourites. X
I can see you feel very strongly about the addition of choc eclairs :) will I get clubbed to death by eclair haters if I admit that they're my favourites and I was overjoyed when they added them to "Heroes"??! :S
