Having bought a tin ready for the Halloween trick or treaters, only to be left with the majority unclaimed due to extremely polite kids who took one each rather than a handful, I can state that in no uncertain terms, I am an expert on Cadbury Heroes tonight.
The tin contains a mix of seven mini Cadbury favourites, Dairy Milk, Dairy Milk Caramel, Creme Egg Twisted, Eclairs, Fudge, Twirl and my personal favourite (all of which magically disappeared before the trick or treaters arrived, not sure how that happened!!) Bournville.
I'm sure these have changed over the years, because I don't recally Creme Egg Twisted being there before, and I thought Heroes also had Bounty bars in them (another favourite). I could do without the Creme Egg ones to be honest, because I think they are horrible. Luckily my son likes them, so I've left all those for him to finish off.
The chocolates are just as high quality as you'd get from a full sized Cadbury bar, and the chocolate is just smooth and creamy. Apart from the Bournville of course, which is smooth but most certainly not creamy, it's dark chocolate perfection as fr as I'm concerned, not bitter, and not sweet. Unlike some dark chocolate producers who seem to think that the more bitter it is, the better.
There's not much I can say about the nutritional values, because it all depends on which bar you pick out, or which handful lol. But you don't need me to tell you that whatever you choose it's not going to be good for you.
The main problem with this tin of chocolates is the inclusion of Fudge, because all night I've had "A finger of fudge is just enough to give your kids a great, a finger of fudge is just enough until it's time to eat...." in my head, and it's driving me insane!!!
I bought the 950g (inc wraps) tin for £5 from Asda, and I've just checked and tonight they are still the same price. There's plenty in the tin, so they're well worth the money.
Summary: Highly recommended

- 01/11/09 P.S. You get Bountys in Celebrations if you want mini tiny ones. |

- 01/11/09 Heroes are made by Cadburys, so never had Bountys in (made by Mars) but you're right, they have changed them. They used to have Time Outs I think, and definitely not the Creme Egg or the dubious Eclair. |

- 01/11/09 Sadly the changes have spoiled these for us, Susan |
