... front. Now you might just think they are similar to Cadbury's Dairy Milk and what is all the fuss about and while the chocolate is Dairy Milk the magic ingredient is magical popping candy laced throughout the bar - takes me back to space dust and my childhood years. Take a bite of the bar (which is shaped like an elf) and feel and hear the popping candy, it is quite fabulous and fun and reminds of being a kid and in these times thats a pretty special chocolate. They are only 70 calories a bar with 3.9g of fat per bar...more

These were tempting me down at my local Spar the other day so I bought one for all of the family. They cost me 25p and look very similar to a freddy the frog chocolate bar and it wasn't until I pointed it out that my husband realised it was something different. The bars a little slimmer than a freddy the frog and although they feature a small elf with it's name printed below the image, on the front of the packet, the background colour is a deep purple to advertise the Cadburys element to it. The bar contains Cadburys chocolate but with little bits of popping candy scattered throughout. On opening the bar I got a nice strong whiff of the all familiar ...  Read the complete review

Last night might have been Bonfire Night but the village shop is crammed full of all things Christmassy and mostly they're on offer. Occupying centre space in an enormous array of goodies was a small box containing an assortment of multicolour Magical Elves. We'd never seen these before but there were squeaks of delight when the demonic daughters realised each one not only had a cheerful elf on the front but was also edible. There was no way I was going to escape the shop without agreeing to at least one each especially at 20p. In all there are eight elves to choose from and because of this it seemed to take them an eternity to decide precisely which elf to ...  Read the complete review

Cadbury Magical Elves are one of the first signs of Christmas, and I love them to bits!! They are kind of like a more seasonal version of Freddos - minature chocolate bars with an elf design. Made with Cadbury's finest chocolate, they have popping candy inside. If you remember those Willy Wonka chocolate bars from a few years ago, they are like those but smaller and with Cadbury's Dairy Milk. The popping candy inside makes the chocolate taste nice and crisp. As they are around the same thickness as a Freddo, this doesn't cause any problems in terms of biting! Plus you get the nice popping candy experience after, with the crispy noises and weird sensation. I'm ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Like a Freddo on crack (535 words)

You know Christmas is coming when you see the selection boxes of chocolate bars on the shelves, those sadly these seem to start in October, can't remember that happening when I was a little boy. However it's always good to see new chocolate bars on the shelf, even the ones that aren't great are still a welcome addition, but when Cadbury's start selling one at 20p it's impossible to not at least try one. Magical Elves for those that haven't seen them are sadly the smallest bars on the market taking the throne from Freddo's however the similarities don't end on size alone as you'll find out if you read on. The wrapper, like Freddo's are is mainly purple with an ...  Read the complete review

It is that time of year when the confectionary companies release their Christmas specials and one of my favourites is by Cadburys. Each year around november or december they creep onto the chocolate shelves and tempt me, what am i talking about i hear you cry only the best chocolate ever its Cadbury's Magical Elves. They are small in size more akin to the Freddo bars but they have hidden and magical ingredients. They come in the small bar sizes only 14g per bar and are great for snacks and fairly guilt free. The wrapper is in the traditional purple to make it easily recognisable as a Cadbury product and has one of 8 elves on the front. Now you might just think ...  Read the complete review
