Cadbury chocolate buttons.

I expect most of you have eaten a chocolate button sometime in your lifetime. Cadbury have been making them for years and years, they were available in my childhood.

Cadbury chocolate buttons come in a variety of sizes of packets. Multi packs of the smallest size are available these are good to add to a goodie bag or a Christmas stocking.

Cadbury buttons are small round button shaped pieces of chocolate just the right size for a small childs mouth, I have seen bigger children empty a whole mini pkt into their hands and put them all into their mouths not sure how many but its about a dozen. This chocolate does have one problem though it melts and makes an awful mess in hot little hands.

Cadbury buttons are made of dairy milk chocolate smooth soft and sweet, melts quickly a perfect treat for a little chocolate fan. Adrian has not been able to eat these though because of his dairy intolerance fortunately he seems to be outgrowing this intolerance.

Chocolate buttons are great to add to cakes and biscuits. Many cake I have made and decorated with buttons. A round iced sponge could be made into a face using chocolate buttons for the eyes nose and mouth. I have used them stuck into the cake on edge to make hedgehogs.
They would make great features for a snowman cake a small round white iced cake and a larger round iced cake chocolate buttons for eyes nose moth and buttons maybe red liquorice for a scarf a hat hmmm well maybe that will have to be coloured icing this has given me an idea I shall make one for the party at school.

We could use these at school to make number cakes little cakes with 1 button, 2 buttons, and 3 buttons. Could make domino cakes too that might be fun at a party.
When your child next has chocolate buttons count them with him/ her and it is a fun way of reinforcing maths skills buttons.

There are 175 kcal, 2.6g proteins, 18.7g carbohydrates, 9.7g fat in 100g of chocolate buttons. So maybe if I am tempted a mini pack is all I should eat.

Chocolate buttons can be bought made by different manufacturers but I think the Cadbury ones taste the best.
Happy chocolate eating Mary.

When eating these, i make the habit of sticking two back to back and eating them. Unknown why, i think it was a habit when i was younger - still takes effect:) These are one of my favourites:)
