Advantages: Good taste. Individually wrapped.

Disadvantages: High sugar content

I picked these up recently at my local corner shop. They were in a "family size" box of 10.

Packaging:

The 10 cake bars are invidually wrapped in a predominantly purple wrapper which keeps them isolated from the air once the wrapper covering the main carton has been opened. The cake bars are laid in the carton which has part of the top missing & is wrapped with a plastic covering. Again this is predominantly purple, with parts of white & yellow. Towards the right hand side it reads "10 cakes Family Pack". The back of the pack lists the Customer Care details, the ingredients & the nutritional information.

Allergy information: May contain traces of nuts.

The cake bar:
The bar is completely covered in Cadbury's chocolate. On biting into it you'll notice that the bottom of the cake bar is chocolate sponge of about 3/4 to 1 centimetre in thickness. On top of this is the caramel layer which reaches around 1/2 a centimetre thickness at it's thickest point.

Taste:
This tastes very chocolatey. The sponge is neither too dry nor too moist & the caramel is smooth. The overriding taste, though, is of chocolate and it's quite sweet. Choc-a-holics will love them, but for those of you not that keen on chocolate cakes / desserts I'd think that one bar would be enough.

Price:
I paid the princely sum of 99p for these in my local corner shop. Cazkins's review suggested that they were £1.20 - £1.30 in Tasco's for a box of 5 so if you do find any of these family pack size anywhere I'd expect them to be around the £2.00 mark or perhaps higher.

Opinion:
A very handy size if you need a chocolate "hit". The caramel stops the cake bar from feeling too dry & the fact that they're invidually wrapped means that you don't have to worry about them drying out or going soft if you wrap them in cling film or foil.
However, the sugar & fat content is quite high. One cake bar will provide an adult with 17.7% of their Recommended Daily Amount of sugar and 9.6% of their RDA for fat so these are perhaps best avoided by dieters or those watching their weight.

Summary: Delicious chocolatey / caramel snack

If I had one bar, I would eat one bar and be satisfied with that, but give me 10 bars, and I am not satisfied until at least half are consumed -by me!
