Advantages: Nice taste. Better that eating the big ones.
Disadvantages: Only 5 in a bag!
When it comes to chocolate, I usually give into temptation! I haven't had chocolate for a few days, so decided on treating myself to a Cadburys Cream Egg. I noticed in my local shop that they do cream eggs in mini version now in a small bag, so thought I'd try these little beauties!
PACKAGING
<><><><><
I paid £0.55p for a 57.5g bag. The foil bag is mainly red and purple with a big yellow splat in the centre with the brand name in the middle.
On the back are the ingredients, nutritional information and contact details. The small bag can be easily opened by just tearing the side of the bag.
THE EGGS
<><><><>
These are eggs with a soft fondant centre. The fondant centre is a white and yellow mixture covered with milk chocolate. Per egg there is 1.9g of fat and 50kcal. Quite a lot if you're going to eat all 5 of them, but there you go! They contain vegetable fats and cocoa butter.
How do you eat your eggs? Do you bite the top off and lick the insides out? Or do you just eat it whole? Well, I'm one for licking the centres out first then eating the chocolate! The centre of the egg is quite thick in texture and sweet to the taste. Combined with the milk chocolate, you're definitely getting your sugar fix here!
The chocolate egg can sometime be split in half so you can lick the contents out first. The chocolate is quite thick. I like the combination of the chocolate and fondant centre. The taste of the two flavours combined works well together.
There are only 5 eggs in the bag. When I bought them I was imagining the eggs to be quite small compared to the single big ones you can buy. But they are quite large! Yes, they are smaller than the normal sized ones you buy, but they are about half the size I should think.
I find that after eating all 5 of these little eggs I was quite full. Chocolate always makes me thirsty as well. But the fondant tends to make me thirsty as well, so a glass of water or a cup of tea may be handy to have by your side.
MY VERDICT
<><><><><>
In summary, I paid £0.55p for 5 eggs, which is a tad expensive. I think they could've shoved one or 2 more in the bag! On the other hand though, they are quite filling if you do eat all 5! I quite enjoyed these little eggs, but it's not my all time favourite. If you want a quick sugar fix, then this is the one for you!
