Advantages: Lovely thick chocolate, good fun to eat!

Disadvantages: Very sweet

Well, I've officially had my first Creme Egg of 2009. Should I be slightly worried that it's only January?! Remember the good old days when these didn't used to be available until Easter? And everyone would completely over-dose on them, and be sick of them again until the next Easter?!

In these days of marketing ploys and pushing products, it would seem that the 'Easter' season comes as soon as the shops can get their Christmas decorations down!

And who am I to complain about that, especially when it gives me the chance to enjoy the deliciousness that is a Cadbury's Creme Egg 3 months early?!

So, if you haven't tasted a Creme Egg before (you don't know what you're missing!), they are egg shaed, with a thick milk chocolate shell. This is lovely thick Cadbury's milk chocolate - no cheap stuff here! Inside is the sweetest goo-iest cream, in white and yellow, made to look like the inside of an egg.

People eat these in many, many different ways - this was the topic of a huge advertising campaign by Cadburys a few years ago, where they asked 'how do you eat yours?'

I personally am still a child inside, and bite the top of my egg and suck out the insides - often ending in a bit of a mess!

I prefer these when they are slightly warm, as I find when taken from the fridge the chocolate outside is a bit too thick to enjoy, and the creme can begin to go slightly hard.

These are quite little in comparison to their chocolate bar cousins. They are also around the same price, although many shops offer special offers on them. I think in general, you'd pay around 50 pence for a Creme Egg. However, they may be small, but they are very filling, and so sweet to be almost sickly! I definately don't think I could manage more than one at once!

Overall, one of my favourite chocolate treats, at Easter, Christmas, or any other time of year!

Summary: A lovely little change to a chocolate bar
