Advantages: Original, Tasty Chocolate, Filling, Fun To Eat

Disadvantages: Messy, Expensive, Liquid Inside Isn't Overly Tasty

The Cadburys Crème Egg is a rather attractive product that isn't just available at Easter. You can buy it all year round in supermarkets and confectionaries. It looks really interesting with a price tag of around 45p so it's always tempting to buy. It is rather small for its price but has a unique taste and is an original product.

It comes wrapped well in foil, which is purple, red and yellow with the Cadburys Crème Egg logo in bold letters. You can quite easily undo the foil wrapping with your nails and fingers. Inside is an egg-shaped milk chocolate treat. It has a pattern on the outside too. Beware that you shouldn't just gnash into it without caution.

The inside contains a lot of liquid, which is presented with a white bit and the yellow/orange yolk. You should bite it with caution, as this liquid will come flowing out. The actual chocolate on the outside tastes wonderful - just like any other Cadburys chocolate bar. The inside, I am not so sure about. It has quite a nice taste but the texture puts me off a bit as it seems to me like you're just eating pure fat and sugar.

The egg is actually quite hard to eat too as it can get very messy. I know some people that dip chips in their eggs, which is a unique idea I have yet to try. The best thing to do is probably bite off the top, suck out all the liquid and then enjoy the rest of the chocolate egg. It's not the nicest chocolate out there so I wouldn't recommend it. However, it does seem to fill you up quite a bit so it makes a pretty good snack when out and about.

As I say, you can buy a single normal sized egg for around 45p, which is actually a tad expensive in my books for such a thing. You can get a packet of 3 eggs as well as a box of 6 eggs, which works out better value. At Easter, you can buy a large chocolate egg with small crème eggs included. I would recommend trying one as they are so unique, but they're not the best chocolate in terms of price and flavour.

Thanks for reading,

Dan ©

Summary: A unique chocolate product, which is a bit messy and overpriced

Sadly, I have switched to real eggs for breakfast as I used to enjoy these "sugar bombs". Nicely reviewed. 8^)
