I like to do quite a bit of baking, and chocolate cake has always been the number one choice in our house for everyone's favourite cake. I like to put different toppings on the top of the icing on the cake, like smarties or crumbled flake. Recently when I was doing the shopping I noticed these bags of Cadbury's Crunchie Nuggets on the shelf and thought it would make a good topping for a cake. They are honeycomb chunks of differing sizes that are smothered in delicious Cadbury's chocolate. Sadly, I've never actually managed to make my crunchie nugget chocolate cake. The reason for this is because every time I buy a bag of nuggets, I can't stop myself from ... Read the complete review

This year saw a change to my usual Mothers Day gifts. Instead of the usual flowers and chocolates the kids presented me with a gift bag full of little bits and pieces; a bottle of perfume, Body Shop stuff, a glossy mag, a bar each of Green & Blacks and Lindt chocolate and a bag of Cadbury's Crunchie Nuggets. This last one was a bit of a mystery. I'm not a Crunchie lover at the best of times finding it too sugary sweet and not chocolatey enough and everyone in the house knows it, so why??? Five minutes later the mystery's solved when Alice tells me she chose the nuggets. While Charlotte (at seven) suggested the Green & Blacks that she knows I love, ... Read the complete review

Yesterday with Barry having a day off, I managed to persuade him to come with me into town to help with Christmas shopping. We managed to get quite a large chunk of it to to help recharge our batteries while we trudged back to the car we decided a chocolate bar was called for. As we browsed through the extensive range of goods on offer, Barry suggested we share something. Share? How dare he even think that. Anyway, I relented and we finally settled on a bag of Cadbury Crunchie Nuggets having never tried them before. Quite how this particular chocolate treat had never been scoffed by me before is anyone's guess, so now seemed a good time as any to make up ... Read the complete review

I do try to resist but it is like the Sirens calling to Odysseus and without a faithful crew to tie me to a mast I'm lured to the chocolate aisle at Tesco despite my best intentions and I slowly succumb to the lure of the chocolate bar. I have always been a fan of Crunchie bars and so when I saw the fact that they now sold Crunchie Nuggets and that two bags were on offer for £1.60 I decided to take the plunge. Each bag is 150g in size which is an annoying amount for a glutton like me because eating enough to satisfy my craving means that there is not a lot left in the bag so hence I convince myself I might as well polish them off and then I feel ill, now I ... WHAT ARE THEY: What you've basically got here are little nuggets of Crunchie, covered in Cadbury's Milk chocolate. At around £1.50 for a 200 gram bag, they're not cheap - but they are tasty! First up, the nuggets come in all shapes and sizes, but tend to be no bigger than a 2p piece. The crunchie has that distinctive honeycombe taste, together with the unforgettable crunch and zing of a crunchie bar. It's a lovely taste, but very obvious from its overt sweetness that you're eating so much sugar, and it can soon get sickly. Chocolate-wise, there's no mistaking the quality taste of Cadbury's chocolate. Not too creamy (like Galaxy), but just ... Read the complete review
