Advantages: Excellent Taste, Great Wrapper

Disadvantages: Can be too crumbly

About Cadbury Flake:

The Cadbury flake was orginially invented in 1920. The Flake is a true chocolate indulgence as its crumbly texture means that it forces you to stop what you are doing and devote your full attention to eating it. Otherwise it just goes everywhere!

Cadbury Flakes is loads of wafer thin chocolate strips all together. The chocolate is cadburys and when you bite into the bar the wafer thin choclate falls apart in your mouth (and often onto your couch as well).

Trivia:

Over 100 million Flake 99s are supposedly sold every year.

My Opinion:

Now having just done a review on Minstrels I felt that I had to look at Cadbury Flakes as well and write a review on this as I think I love these nearly as much as Minstrels.

I love Flakes because they just melt in your mouth. The wafer thin strips just seem to dissolve in your mouth and give you just the most perfect tasting chocolate I know. Quite simply if you are looking to enjoy just chocolate then get a flake as it has never let me down yet.

I am going to go straight onto the main drawback of flakes and the reason why many people (including my wife) do not eat flakes. The reason is just that they are so crumbly. They get everywhere and you find little wafer thin strips of chocolate all over the place.

Another drawback (although really related to the above point completely) is that you have to stop everything that you are doing to eat a Flake. Why? Because they are so crumbly. Unless you concentrate on eating it, you will lose half the chocolate to the floor. Think about both of these points when you are thinking of whether to buy a flake. I do not recommend a flake if you are running for a train and need a quick bite to eat! Although that would be an amusing site to see!

Now on these points, I like flakes because they are so wafer thin and nice and I am willing to endulge myself in eating only the flake.

Those who are old enough will remember the old adverts that were amusing and seductive with the woman relaxing in the bath eating her flake!, but I am straying off the point.

The packaging of flakes is well known and you no doubt know it. Bright Yellow wrapper with Flake written over it?Tied at the ends like a Christmas cracker? Thought you would recognise it!

HOW TO EAT A FLAKE:

Thought I would highlight my favourite way of eating a flake. That is to crunch it up a bit in the package and use the package as a funnel to pour the wafer thin parts straight into my mouth! YUMMY! They can then dissolve so well and maximise the taste.

Alternatively you can just bite into the bar, but I do recommend keeping the wrapper under your chocolate bar to catch all parts that fall off, this will keep your mess down!

In summary, Flakes are excellent, tasty and well worth enjoying in your own house.

Verdict: 4 out of 5
