Advantages: Cadburys chocolate alone is advantage enough
Disadvantages: So messy
Cadbury's Flake, it's in a league of it's own. A chocolate bar that I truly love but I sometimes refuse to eat down to the messy score!
The flake bar comes wrapped in a yellow wrapper which are my least favourite part of this bar (but I will come back to that). The nutritional info is:-
170 Calories
17.7 grams of sugar
9.9 grams of fat
6.1 grams of saturates
0.09 grams of salt
Okay, now bak to the wrapper. Its a yellow foil based wrapper which is basically twisted at each end. Now as fellow Flake lovers will know, the wrapper does not help for ease of eating. The flake bar is exactly what it says on the tin. It is flakes of chocolate that are loosely moulded into the shape of a bar. When you unwrap the chocolate I suppose the idea is that if you want to take a bite and re-wrap it you can. However in reality these wrappers are soooo unpractical!
When you take the first bite, the bar just goes crazy. The flakes fall like rain from the sky. No matter what you do there is just no stopping them. I have wondered from when I was younger how the lady in the famous advert managed to make it look so elegant.
On the plus side the good old Caburys taste cannot be beaten and for some unknown reason it tastes even better in flakes. The flake bar can also be used as a tasty (albeit unhealthy) addition to some already lovely foods such as ice cream.
All in all a lovely but messy chocolate.
Summary: Lovely but overlooked for less messy bars
